Hi Draylor!

I see you have an error on your page, but I'm having a hard time isolating it (god I hate IE). Your site works fine in Firefox btw.

If you could remember what you were working on today, that would really help me isolate the problem since the IE error I'm getting is just saying jQuery doesn't recognize the problem. How non-specific is that? LOL

Mottie,

Ok - this is what I was working on today - and a NOTE: I notice it's ONLY happening on my HOME Page. The other pages, the Tool-tips work fine ...

  • Added news for Venril Sathir Kill
  • Modified the Carnage Raids Progression (I had changed some areas to Farm - but have since changed to Raiding again) and added that we killed Venril Sathir
  • Modified picture for Level 80 - to current
  • And some random answers to our Fourms (As I am one of the leaders of guild)
  • Calendar area - Epic Updates Mythical - I add/removed a few names and also removed some "Spacing" issues for the Cells with Sixyear in it (was some extra coding) - This area also contains the Comment to the side (calendar) and the color code for Sign-up features (created by you)

Nothing to out of the ordinary ... I have since (as of 5 mins ago) removed our Raid Sort function I was using, becuase the Guild Portal raid point system isn't working right, and we were going to just use a Excel table to put in it's place. So the feature you created, won't work. Although, I wish I knew how to make prettier tables

The ZAM tool-tips is working fine on front page - and the other pages, the tool-tips work fine ... so I guess maybe I dinked up something on the home page?

Hi Draylor!

I found the problem, it's in the image gallery so just disable it for now until it gets fixed (I reported the problem) or *cough* stop using IE LOL

It's in the Image Gallery, seriously? wow ... ok I can disable for now. Is it the gallery itself or a picture in it?

NOTE: I have removed the Scrolling Image Gallery and added just a Static List - page works fine with Static List. So this is just the Scrolling Image Gallery that's "Breaking" the Tool-tips

    I can't stop using IE I actually like it over-all --- I know I know

Thanks a ton you're the best.

Updated the tooltip script "screenshot" function:

When you link to a website, you can now use websnapr.com to provide a thumbnail preview... so you don't need to make the thumbnail yourself anymore unless you want to.

Use this template:
<a class="screenshot" href="http://www.google.com" title="<center>Google</center>" rel="#">Google</a>
  • The big change is in the rel attribute:

    • You can place the URL to your own thumbnail here

      rel="URL TO THUMBNAIL"

    • You can use a "#" to tell the script to use websnapr

      rel="#"
You can see this example in action in my Help-site forums.

I am confused by this Mottie. Is this something that we need to add?

Hi Guppy!

No, you don't need to add it... it's just another function of the tooltip script that I added.... There are three types of tooltips supported:
  1. Basic Tooltip - The tooltip displays the information contained in the title attribute
  2. Preview Tooltip - The tooltip displays the image that the link is pointing to in the href. You can also click the link to get to that preview image.
  3. Screenshot Tooltip - The tooltip displays the image that is in the link's rel attribute. Use to have a link to say an Armory page and when you hover over the link, a thumbnail preview image of that website will popup.
I don't know if explaining it like that helps, but for me it's better to see the examples in action in my help site forums.
The Screenshot tooltip portion was updated... originally, if you wanted to have a tooltip popup with a screenshot thumbnail of a site, you'd have to:
  • Take a screen shot of the site yourself
  • Shrink the image to a thumbnail size
  • Save the image to the web
  • Then point to it with the tooltip script (in the rel attribute in light blue)... like this:
<a class="screenshot" href="http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=194525&TabID=1643295" title="<center>Loch Modan Yacht Club</center>" rel="http://www.axiomfiles.com/Images/Spotlight/194525.jpg">LMYC</a>
Now, the script uses websnapr.com to do all this extra work for you... so instead of having the rel attribute point to the URL of the thumbnail image, you just put in a "#" and the script tries to get the thumbnail image made at the websnapr site... I can't show you an example here on the admin boards, but click on the link to my help-site forums above and look for the Google link I put in the post.

So the screenshot tooltip will look like this now:
<a class="screenshot" href="http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=194525&TabID=1643295" title="<center>Loch Modan Yacht Club</center>" rel="#">LMYC</a>
I hope that makes it more clear for you
