Getting Started!

My guild site is the first site I have ever run and I have a few questions. First of all, how do you create the custom banners?Secondly, how do you get the URL for music? Whenever I click on a link for music, it just brings up the media player.

What i did is copy a track from my computer to photobucket then linked the URL of that.

If anyone knows how, I would like to know how to script in a perminant mute button for those who do not wish to hear the music every time they log in. =)

For custom banners, you need to have a graphics editor I beleive.  I use Gimp, its free and I am able to do alot of interesting things with it just from what I have learned messing around and reading the tutorials; Animations ect. Check it out here.

Aren't you only able to upload pictures and videos to photobucket?

As far as I know, no one has been able to link music directly to the guild portal sound feature. However, I did find an mp3 flash player that you can add to your page: http://www.ericzhang.com/mp3.php

Ok im going to explain a few things to all of you:

First you can upload mp3's to photobucket.  I did it, it worked, just upload as a video.

Secound the option that guildportal uses to play music in the background makes a bit of code that only IE can understand.  So if you have anything else your screwed.

Third to get music to play in the background regardless of the internet browser you are useing simply put this code into your site "<embed type="audio/mpeg" src="MP3 URL" autostart="true" loop="true" height="0" width="0">"

Okay then how do you do it as a video? I just tried if, to upload a MP3onto my PB account as a video, and I was told it was not a videoformat..and rattled on a crap load of allowed formats.
