Getting Started!

Okay I see some uses for hiding a widget now thanks!

I was also asking how do I hit the container while still showing the contents of whats in the widget?   You made it sound like that was also possible but thats the code I looked for and couldn't find.   I wanted to have a picture without the widget header and frame.

Hi Tewl2!

Oh I guess I didn't understand that that is what you wanted. Well you have 3 choices that I can think of off the top of my head:
  1. Add custom box border HTML then target the widget you want and remove all of the background images (e.g. for a widget titled "Pix", add the following to the CSS):

    #box_Pix .ContentBoxTitle { display: none; }
    #box_Pix .topleft,
    #box_Pix .toptile,
    #box_Pix .topright,
    #box_Pix .lefttile,
    #box_Pix .righttile,
    #box_Pix .bottomleft,
    #box_Pix .bottomtile,
    #box_Pix .bottomright { background: url(); }

  2. Hide all the box borders in that zone (column) - go to Control Panel > Style Tools > Content Boxes (Widgets) > Border tab > check "Hide (left, center or right) Box Borders" check box.
  3. Or add the image to the top or bottom of the column using this script.

Fingers of Fury!

Maybe I'm retarded but I can't figure out how to make this work.. like I added a custom HTML widget to my site to make use of your shoutbox script both for scrolling and images. So where do I plug this script in to hide the widget since it serves no purpose other than executing code? However I try to plug it in it wont work and actually hide it.. so I dunno if I'm just dumb or what lol...

Also something else I noticed about your website (helpsite) your shoutbox when you mouse over shouts highlight themselves, how do you do that Thanks!

Hi Socxiety!

The script at the beginning of this post is meant to be put into the same Free Form Text/HTML widget that you have your extra code in. It automatically hides the widget that it is inside. The only other thing I might need to mention is to make sure the widget editor is in Raw Mode (link in the upper right corner)

As for the shout box highlighting, your site already has it - the color change is much more subtle. To modify the color, go to Control Panel > Style Tools > Content Boxes (Widgets) > Grids tab, then adjust the hover rows color as desired
