There's a new version of the auto-updater available for Windows users.  Anyone who previously had the "AxiomShift Auto Updater" installed will want to remove it.

The new version, called "GuildPortal Synch," is compatible with WoW guild bank imports as well as the roster, and moving forward, will be able to sync more data as we add more functionality to the add-on itself.  Aside from uploading your savedvariables lua file for you, it also keeps the add-on itself up-to-date with the latest version.

The page where it's always going to be listed is http://www.guildportal.com/GPHelper.aspx (scroll to the bottom), or the direct download link is http://www.guildportal.com/AxiomShiftUpdater/GuildPortalSynch.zip (run the Setup app in the ZIP file to install it).

AWESOME!!!! i just installed this, it worked perfectly (i did however have to run this as admin or else i got .net framework errors) but it's no problem in windows 7 because i can just run the compatibility program and set it to always run as admin. this is probably not an error on you guys but on my side. this is a big step for you guys i really like this idea. now you guys should sync calendar information if possible!

Yep, once we've got the add-on dumping events from the in-game calendar, that's what we're going to be doing.  As for the permissions, that's a bit troubling...  Of course it wouldn't do that in dev to give me a little warning, noooooo...

Hrm.  Since the actual add-on isn't located in the updater's folder, and since the updater needs to be able to replace the out-of-date add-on, I'm probably just going to have to include an instructional bit on the download page on setting it up to run as admin, and trap the error from the program itself with instructions there as well.

Thanks for letting me know about this!
