Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to

New domains going live with tonight's code push, along with some tweaking for text alignment bugs introduced in the last patch.
New guilds are now able to select a sub-domain to start with, so that inviting people to your site will no longer require that you rattle off (or remember) a long string of numbers. In addition, new
primary domains
are available to all. We've gathered up quite a few to get started with, so you will have more options when it comes to the full addresses of your site (and maybe get around some of those pesky firewall restrictions "The Man" is imposing on you during your lunch break).
For new guilds, the list of available primary domains is displayed when you create your site. For existing guilds, you are able to change your existing sub-domains and primary domains through the Control Panel, under Subscription Services.

I have visited the Control Panel for my guild (
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=314278&TabID=2634865
) and I don't seem to have an option when it comes to the domain name. The only option I have is to go to Paypal and set up a subscription. Is this new feature only available to paid subscriptions after all? I have submitted a Support Ticket but am looking for clarification.
Thanks and sorry for my newbness if I'm badly mistaken!

I also have a similar issue, but not exactly so. Our site (
http://www.guildportal.com/guild/55125
) is a subscription site, but we held off on the domain payment for assorted reasons. Is the domain still a separate charge? If not, then I have been unable to find a way to change the domain without being redirected to the subscription page. Our sub doesn't expire until May, and I'm reluctant to throw on another charge for another six until we get to the end of this sub.

On guild creation, you can choose both a primary and sub-domain w/o having to subscribe (free site). However, to change them afterwards, there is a one-time $10 charge for every domain change (as noted in the Domain Change window).
To access it in Control Panel, go to Subscription Services. There is a link in the upper right called
Change Domain
. Click it and it will allow you to modify both the sub and primary.
Please note:
The above example was tested with a new guild site. On my subscribed site I do not get the $10 charge notation for changing it, although when I clicked Check Availability, I get a Buy Now button, which I would
assume
would be the charge (I haven't gone any further as I don't want to accidently change our domain).

Thanks Everdark, now I think I understand what this entails now. We either have to subscribe and pay for a domain, or do a domain change. Neither is really an option for us, but at least we understand now!

My test site does not have a domain configured and when I click Change Domain, it takes me to the Subscription page at GP. I could enter a sub-domain name, although there were no options available under Primary domain to choose from. Also, there was no Submit button to click to make a change. Since new sites can have this option w/o a subscription, I'm not sure why it takes you to the subscription page, unless it's a bug (since I was unable to make a change for my test site).
From the descriptions of the subscriptions below that, I think they are now more focused on how much storage space you want and no long about the sub-domain option as they were in the past.

I see exactly what you're talking about there, Everdark. I tried and got the same result that you got. Thanks for trying!
In the meantime, I guess I'll wait for a support ticket response and worse case scenario, prepare my guild to switch to another guild portal site if necessary.
Thanks for your help!

Clicking on change domain and having it take you to the Subscribe page is, for sure, a bug. Will be looking into this today!

Weeee! Thanks for fixing that! I get the option to change domain now!
One question though...if you didn't have a sub-domain before, you're still required to pay the one time $10.00 to create one or are all the lectures I listened to last week scrambling my noggin'?

I hate to come back to this, but here I go.
I've opened a support ticket on Friday concerning a change in domain for
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=55125
to corpsofdiscovery.guildportal.com. The domain change was charged for successfully according to PayPal, and we got the message from the System on our news page indicating that the domain name was changed. However, clicking on it sent us to the main GP site. Mindful of the message indicating it could take 72 hours for it to update, we waited. It passed, which is when I sent in the problem ticket. Still no word, and I have grave concerns about the functionality of the domain change options at this point. If someone in a position of authority could prod the folks in charge of looking over these tickets a bit, it would be appreciated; nobody likes being charged and not receiving the services.
Edit: Situation resolved-thanks for the prompt response.
