I was wondring if there is anyway to remove the uptop bar where you enter the user name and the password.

We are trying to have the new user read a page first before he create hs new account.

any idea?

Thanks in advance

You can use CSS and a customised Banner Area to do this - basically you create a CSS box to contain the contents of the banner - then give it a minus position, i.e. Top -20px.

However, you'll need to consider how your regular members will be able to access their email, logout/login, or see when there's a vote on (as the top bar will blink when you haven't voted on something).

One way around this would be to use another bit of CSS to hide the topbar for anyone who doesn't have Member access - you can do that by adding the extra bit of CSS to the Welcome content type - as that could be used to deliver custom CSS based upon Access Rights.

Having said that, what happens if a Member has logged out? They wouldn't be able to log in as the top bar has been hidden.

As you can see, it's something I've been thinking over too. We want ppl to see and post in a Recruitment forum - not click on the Join <guild> link.

Yeah, thats something important what you said about the members loging in out checking mail and voting sections which made me thinking about another way

We can add a link ass "Already Member" and "Sign Up" inside a flash banner which will make it easy to the member to log in whenever he like and log out with no problems

I will give it a shot and see

Thank you very much for the hints and ideas, appreciate it.
