Becoming Adept!

I've searched the forums and there doesn't seem to be much discussion about this widget. I wonder if most people don't use it.

I would like to but I'm struggling to understand how it works. At first, I had only the default message. And all was well. I decided to keep that message for Super Admins and Officers, so I copied it to those Access Levels and changed the Default. And all was well. Then I decided the Super Admin and Officers should see the Default. I deleted the messages for both. And both got blank Welcome messages.

As far as I can tell, the Default should appear when any Access Level is blank. However, it only seems to work when the Access Level is never modified. Now, I have to copy the Default message to each Access Level. That means there's no point in having a Default message.

Here's a usability suggestion. In the dedicated Welcome editor, have check box next to the Access Level drop down for "Use Default". When the Default level is selected in the drop down, grey out the check box. When any other level is selected and the check box is selected, show the Default text in the editor and grey out the editor. When the box is unchecked, show the text for that access level and allow editing.
