Is this in Real Time or is it refreshed each page when a page is refreshed or viewed?

I don't think it is real time because I have seen members online and when I try to get them into chat, they are not actually logged on.

I refresh the page and sure enough it shows them logged off.

So what is the timing?
Could it be done in real time without BandWidth issues?

I know cold fusion had RT settings but the refresh time was touchy as to less time to refresh and would mess the pages.

Just a thought

I know this will refresh a page :

The problem is, I don't see a who's online page to edit in control panel to add the code so leads me to thinking it is back end.

I guess I could make a new page just for that but would be nice to see in RT who's online on any page rather than going to that page each time.

OK, I tested the Who's online, logged out and it still showed me as logged in.

I used the JS to refresh the page http://crusaders.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=54837&TabID=491587

and I am logged out at the present time, it still shows me logged in.

Can we get a better time refresh on this please?
It's kind of annoying when you try to chat with someone who was logged in 15 mins ago.

seems pretty accurate to me, are you sure your not seeing cached pages?

Yes, I'm sure it's not cached pages.

I coded a page with JS to refresh every 1 minute.
I logged out, closed and re-opened my browser without loggin.
I went to the page that refreshes and it took 10 mins before it showed me logged off.

Login is instant though.

Members would show logged in when in fact they had left the site even when I had just logged on.

Also, since I posted about this, the refresh time seems to be faster.

Takes about 5 seconds now to see login, where, etc.

I am here and my guild page shows me as here on these forums.

Back on the guild site, it will show me on our forums after about 5 secs.

It's no problem now though, it's not that significant now that we have our Vent server up.

I agree. The Who's Online has an extremely slow refresh rate. Seems to be several minutes before it updates. I think it should be less than one minute, if possible.
