I am requesting the ability to create an event, set the access level for viewing but having an additional button that would disallow signups.  I know of at least one other guild host that has this feature.

Why?  The "announcements" feature is handy for listing very brief data, like someone's birthday, on the calendar but it doesn't allow me to share more than a few words.  I'd like to be able to list public events that are not hosted by our guild and provide details of the events.  I do not want our members to sign up for the events.  I just want them to see the name and time and be able to get details by clicking on the event.

Adding a "disallow signups" button would work well.  My members would benefit by my sharing of non-guild events and I would benefit by not having to check off "attendance" on these events because people mistakenly signed up for something that was only meant to be informational in nature (our members care about their attendance stats).

There seems to be a bug.  We have two events scheduled for the same day, one of which can be signed up for and one of which cannot.  The problem is that the text saying "This event cannot be signed up to" is showing on both events.  The normal event CAN be signed up for, it's only the additional text that's misleading.  Can you please look into this?
