Admin levels was mentioned in the SWTOR feature request thread but I thought a more general thread would be the best place to respond to it.

This has been a problem on several occasions when I wanted help with html or the like from a member but found myself in the uncomfortable position of deciding if I should give him Super Admin just to tinker with the html in a free form text box widget.

I realize that changing the permission levels may be very complex and touch on many different systems but there has to be a way have more control.

There should be at a minimum a new Site Admin level geared towards site design and layout. This permission level should not let the Site Admin delete the guild, delete the website, kick members, delete calendar events, modify DKP, etc. unless they are explicitly granted that permission by virtue of separate admin assignments.

This will go live with the next update. There will be a new checkbox in the member editor called "Site Design." Those who have it enabled will see a link to Site Design where the Control Panel link normally appears. It will open the Control Panel, but only with the styling sections visible and enabled.

Thank you very much. This will be very useful for sites and will probably prevent a few support headaches on your end from members with too much permission doing stuff they shouldn't.

Getting Started!

Perhaps I missed something. I gave Site Design permission to my extra crashtestdummy account with council access. The account has no other admin permissions enabled for this test. I cannot edit free-form html widgets that we use for customized stuff using this account. It can't edit any pages or change properties, widget layout or edit any widgets at all.

I'm leaning toward the probability that I missed a setting or don't fully understand how it works.  Are these limitations for Site Design working as intended?

Thanks,
Cogs

Hoping this didn't fall through the cracks. Is it possible to include modifying free-form text widgets in the realm of permissions for the site design admin role?

Thank you,
