Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to

This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:

Feature Request Form...

Hello,
The Feature Request Form isn't working still, but there are several features that I would like to request or ask about.
Is there a way to add "Rifts" guild roster to a page on our website?
Is there a way to add a window that included our guilds level progression from in-game?
I have "Don't Send E-Mail" checked in my profile settings. Is there a way to make notifications that would go to email instead go to the guildportal mail (subscribed thread notifications, etc)?
Request for the crafting marketplace: This is a great tool and I am very excited about it. We tested it out a bit today and have plans to promote the tool. Would it be possible for the crafter wanting to accept an order to be able to add notes to the notification that will be sent to the purchaser? That way they can let the player that made the order know what materials and costs will need to be covered, so they can both agree to those terms before hand?
When we receive notification that a member is about to be auto-purged from the website, can it please also include the name of that member, so we can contact some other way?
I know a couple of these I have asked in other places, but I think they might have gotten buried.

Also:
Please add "Cloth Gatherer" to the list of professions for the Marketplace to the Rift game.
And if we could have an update on this:
5th + poll choice bar is white on white
, we would really appreciate it. We like to try to run weekly polls as well as additional "guild business" polls as needed.
Thanks!

Would it be possible to please add a second column of "roles" for the calendar sign-ups? "Preferred Role" and "Alternate Role"? Maybe make it an optional function?
Rift has the ability for players to play multiple roles and I imagine there might be another game or two that does as well. This will allow everyone to select the two roles they are willing to play so that the person creating the groups/raids can form them a lot easier.

Hi! I was wondering if you do your patches/updates/fixes weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? I would like to know so I don't inadvertently pester anyone or check certain forum threads so many times a day looking for replies that I frustrate myself. I want to wait patiently and it will be a lot easier if I know roughly I should check for replies to issues and request posts.
Also, we had our first couple of mishaps with the Marketplace in which members placing orders could not "agree to terms" of crafters and things got a bit messy. Is there any chance we can work on an option for crafter/harvesters to add their "terms" in their notifications and members can agree to them BEFORE a crafter accepts a workorder?
I have asked everyone to communicate with each other in the interim, but I think the marketplace tool is really awesome and I want to encourage them to use it as a convenience and think that slight change will help.

Heya! Until very recently, we typically did a code push every day. It amounted to around 15-30 seconds of downtime though, so now we're trying very hard to limit ourselves to once a week, on Friday or Monday mornings.
The feature request form shouldn't be linked to anymore -- I pulled it out of the description for the feature discussion forum and replaced it with a link to send in a support ticket. We changed our support ticket workflow a bit since we can figure out whether something's a support ticket or a feature request, and the old feature request form asked far too many questions.
For the RIFT roster question, we would need Trion to make the data available in some form. Most of the larger games (and many of the smaller ones) make roster data available either as a plain web page or as both the page and XML. We can parse either, so long as their HTML includes some mark-up indicating where the elements we're looking for are. XML is, of course, the best way. Currently I don't see any roster info available on their site at all. The only way this will come about is by players like yourself posting on their forums, asking for it. We will, however, be pushing a server status widget on Friday.
As for thread notifications going to GP mail instead of your e-mail, it's possible, but I need to check what kind of impact that will have on the DB, and it might possibly require a more aggressive auto-pruning of old messages.
Crafting marketplace: yes, I think this is something we can put in. Probably just a comments-style thing with notification to the person who placed the order whenever a new comment is added.. Your last post in the thread asks about adding another step to the workflow for this, but that's something I'd rather avoid. Hopefully adding comments/discussion functionality will be good enough?
I don't follow exactly on the auto-purging item you listed. Are you talking about the idle monitor?
I believe Sandy added the cloth gatherer thing for ya.
I will have the white-on-white problem resolved with Friday's code push.
Multiple roles in the sign-up: at the moment, I'm going to have to say "not yet." We've got some other things in the works for events that this could be worked into, though.

Okay. I will look for that link. I was trying to use the one that was linked in the forums list.

I will do that!

That would be awesome. I will look forward to hearing the result either way. Thanks for checking it out.

Yes, the only thing that we seem to need is for the player placing the work order to be able to accept the crafters requirements BEFORE anyone starts making anything. We don't want any more issues with a crafter making something that a player could not afford their cost requirements or another crafter wanting to make for free or cheaper.
I don't follow exactly on the auto-purging item you listed. Are you talking about the idle monitor?
Sorry about that. Yes, if we know who is about to be purged, we can send them an in-game warning as our members that are not on the site roster, are also disband from our guild.
I believe Sandy added the cloth gatherer thing for ya.
It is wonderful. Thanks!

Perfect.

I look forward to seeing it! Do you have an ETA?

I hate to say so, but no to the ETA question. The only work-around would be for the player to have two (or however many) characters, one each with something denoting spec.. Such as CharacterName-DPS, CharacterName-Tank, etc.. The way it is now, they can sign up multiple characters to a single event, and they could just use the different characters. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but it's a work-around for the time being.

Hi - I'm just wondering if we have any updates on some of these things? I know some have already been answered (such as the imported roster), but I have been asked about some of the other features repeatedly, and I am not sure what to tell them anymore. Even if there is no progress on any of these, I can tell them that I asked.
