1.  Minor point but in SWTOR, raids are called "Operations".  We're trying to move our guild from using WoW terms to SWTOR terminology.

2.  Is it possible to add a feature to the Roster widget or make a new widget that lets us assign members to various teams.  The initial content for SWTOR will feature 8-man and 16-man groups.  We would also like to establish separate pvp teams.

    a.  Let us create multiple teams and label them for size, pvp/pve, recruiting or closed, etc.  We believe we want to have several 8-man teams so we need to be able to name them individually.

    b.  Four 4-man and two 8-man teams may serve as a subset for a 16-man operations group.

    c.  Initially we should be able to create multiple 4, 8 and 16-man teams.

    d.  Team assignments should be reflected in the guild roster.  Perhaps pvp and pve team assignment columns can show the current pvp or pve team each character is currently assigned to.

    e.  It would be helpful if there was a way for members/characters to apply to specific teams they are interested in and meet the prereqs for.  A waiting list of pending applications would also be helpful for managing alternates.

    f.  The team view should show the purpose of the team, any larger teams it belongs to, the level, class, specific skills, armor, etc. prerequisites and minimum flags/keys needed, recruiting status, etc.

    g.  The officer designated as the Quest Admin should be able to assign team leaders to each team.  These team leaders and/or the quest admin should be able to approve/decline requests to join the team, invite qualified members to join the team off the guild roster, manually add and remove members and assign roles to each team member.

    h.  Ideally, each team or group of say two 8-man and the parent 16-man team grouping could have it's own DKP, PVP standings, attendance data, etc.

    i.  Calendar events should have a feature to indicate which team or team grouping the event is designated for.

    j. Perhaps an ability to for a team to have designated alternates to cover for no-shows.  To do this the team could have configurable extra slots over and above the intended 4, 8 or 16 slots; for example 4+1, 8+2 and 16+4.

Even if all of the features cannot be added, at least a minimal set of them would help us move from doing this manually on the forums for more effective group management.

Unless its in the control panel (and only admins see that) the admins, should be able to change the word "Raid" to "Operations" by editing the widget name.   I was trying to think where it would be hard coded, DKP/Events, anywhere else?

The next big project is going to be re-vamping our DKP system.   One of the things I hope to get added is the idea of a raid/operations roster.

As for
i".  Calendar events should have a feature to indicate which team or team grouping the event is designated for."

Have you looked at "Event Catergories"?  This may already do part of what you want.

Thank you for getting back to me.  I can't recall where the raid vs operations term is, I'll poke around and see if I can find it and work more with the events widget as well.  Since the game hasn't launched yet we've mostly been working with 'dummy' events and dkp, etc. to learn the ins and outs.

I look forward to the planned DKP upgrades and hopefully some type of teams management roster or system.

Thank you again for getting back to us.

Sandy,

It is obvious that you read through each item I suggested, thought about each one, and tried your best to offer solutions within the current constraints of the code.  I really appreciate that effort and feel confident that you are looking out for us.

I harbor some hope that at least some of my suggestions appear in the planned major DKP upgrade in the form of some sort of team roster management system.

I'm sure that sometimes you might feel that whenever you have things on an even keel, a new game comes out along with a boat load of demands.

Thank you and keep plugging away.

I posted my comments in the New Features thread as you requested rather then the bugs sections you said you mostly patrolled over a month ago for the next big game, SWTOR.

I realize that things do not happen overnight but it has been a month since we have conversed on this topic and I have not seen any improvements in this regard.

I have decided to create a special forum section that details my guild's requests and the management responses to them on my guild's website so my guild members know that I have been actively following up on their requests and that their requests are not falling into a black hole on my end.

I'm sure your lives are not simple but please help me out here and give me some feedback on how things are going.

I wish I could tell you more -- I sortof feel like I am just repeating what I said last post.  It is a big rewrite, it needs a lot of testing and planning, when  will that all be done , I am not sure.

I can ask Aaron if it can come out in smaller parts, maybe that will help people feel that its being worked on --- but some of the parts may have an unfinished look and feel to  it, and I am not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Hi Veriss

I was running into the same situation.  Guild members that helped pay for the service wanted answers that I simply did not have or I had nothing new to tell them from what information I passed on.  I pasted the new thread that I just made "Feature "wish list" for them to track any progress themselves, which seemed to help.  At least they knew that I wasn't "blowing smoke" at them when they had asked about some of the longer running or more irksome issues, when I told them that I really am addressing "it".  Just an idea that helped me and may help you as well.
