Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post

Signup Status Color v5
by Mottie
Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:
*Note: this is an old screenshot, but the code still works

Event UI Changes Needed

Since Aaron stated that the
DKP discussion thread
was limited to DKP and not the event interface, I am starting a separate thread here. Event scheduling and signups is arguably the MOST important feature of any guild hosting site and I feel that it is one of the areas GuildPortal is weakest in. Let me say that I have actually used GuildLaunch and DKPSystem and tested 4-5 other sites and feel Guildportal is the best overall. Still, I hope that Aaron and Sandy overhaul the signup UI to bring it more in line with newer hosting sites.
So, if you have features you feel need to be added or changed in the signup process, please post them here. Hopefully, some changes will be made.
Lose "role". We need class and level
. I currently use a script from Mottie to import the class and level information from our roster into the signup table and another script to hide the "role" selection in the signup process. Many character classes can serve multiple roles and as the raid LEADER, the person choosing who goes and who doesn't,
I
want to determine what they are going to do. I need to know their class and level to determine what roles they can fill and how well. Not all classes "tank" equally, for example.
Alter the "Confirm All" behavior
. The way the admin's "Confirm All" link currently works makes it
unusable most of the time
, forcing us to confirm folks one at a time, which is laborious AND defeats the purpose of the link. Currently, "confirm all" confirms everyone listed as available,
including those marked as wait list
. So, if we have 15 signed up as available for a 12-person raid (3 extra), we normally put the extras on the wait list. If I do that, then hit "confirm all". those "wait list" members are now marked as "confirmed"! If I DON'T put them on the wait list, all 15 who signed up as "available" will now be marked as "confirmed"! So, add anyone marked as "wait list" to the other groups (tentative and canceled) that will not be marked as "confirmed" when I hit "confirm all". That way, I can set our extras as "wait list", then hit "confirm all" to confirm everyone else.
Allow Admins to delete signups
. Some members mistakenly sign up twice and it throws our tracking off. Also, when a member cancels in advance, I want the option to remove their signup. Otherwise, if I don't check that they attended, they are unfairly tracked as having "missed" an event they signed up for.
Character Link
: The character signed up with should link to the roster entry details so the raid organizer can quickly look up character stats.
"Select all" for DKP
. Please add a "select all" option on the event details page and the DKP screen in the follow-up so that no matter which way I enter DKP, I don't have to check every little box.
Update signup time when changed
. We give preference to members who sign up first. We won't want folks signing up for EVERY event as tentative, WAY in advance, then changing to Available at the very last minute. If they modify their status, change the time signed up to the time they modified it.
Thanks!

When I "Confirm all", rather than have a notification message sent immediately, I'd prefer an intermediate window in which I could add a note to that confirmation email. Something as simple as "we'll be starting 15 minutes late" is often useful.

That way, I can set our extras as "wait list", then hit "confirm all" to confirm everyone else.
This is still a major issue for me and seems like a simple change. WHY is confirm all confirming members I have
already
assigned to "wait list"?
Today is an example of the problem and it happens multiple times a week, every week. We had 14 people signed up for a 12-person event. I can assign the two extras to our wait-list but then if I hit "confirm all", the system swaps their status to confirmed! Instead, i have to put them on the wait list, then individually confirm all 12 of the others. This is really a pain in the butt.
Please make this change.

Are you 100% positive it's doing this? I just stepped through the code and it didn't confirm anyone marked as tentative, cancelled, wait-listed, or even alternate. I did notice the tooltip describing the behavior didn't mention that...
