I'm using GuildPortal pretty much as it comes.  The editor to put details into a calendar event has recently changed to allow full-screen mode (yay!).

However, I now get blank lines showing up on my event that don't show up when I am editing the text.  When I inserted a table with 25 rows, it shows up as 100 blank lines followed by my table.  When I select a few of the blank lines, it also selects a few rows from my table, so I know that the blank lines are linked with cells in my table.

Heres a copy of the HTML with 23 of my 25 lines trimmed out.  The blank lines show up between the "Level Required" line and the table.  Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I tried viewing it with both IE and Firefox and get the same results.

Fingers of Fury!

Yeah, I'm having the same problem trying to embed a table in the event details. Which used to work fine.

If you examine the page source from your browser, you'll notice every table data element has an extra <br /> that is NOT inside the data element.

Most browsers seem to assume that any html that is not inside a table data element is not part of the table, and usually browsers render such html prior to rendering the table. It looks to me like that is what is going on.

However, this extra html is not visible in the editor. It only gets output when someone views the event.

I tried stripping out every blank space in the table, using the html editor, so that all of the table code was one long string. But as soon as I saved it, it put all of the pretty print back in, with spaces etc.

Please fix this.

Or even better, implement an easier way for event maintainers to assign signups into specific maintainer-defined roles.
