Just tossing out a quick thought...

I'm thinking about a script that would compare roster/armory listings and check for new, or missing members.

This could work for either GuildPortal members added to your website, or (more importantly) new members added to your guild.

Each time you log in, you'd see the list of adds/deletes, and you could greet them, send a letter, delete their membership, etc....

Have you seen this?
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam.

Honestly, something like this would take a lot of work (at least for me)...
  • First off, you'd need to store your current list of members

    • I believe the Roster is updated every time you go to that page. If not, I have no idea how to access the stored data.

    • If you set up an external database, you'll need someone who knows php and how to set up and use a mySQL database (which I don't)

  • Then you'd have to get updates from the armory

    • I know the site does this, but I don't know how to use their script

    • You could read the armory XML directly, but I haven't been able to get javascript to read XML directly (except with the RSS feeds)

  • Then compare the lists and compile a list of add/deletes - this is the easiest part LOL
I'd submit a feature request ticket. Or maybe someone else around here has the know how?
