That seems to have done it...I'm not going to mess with anything else because I'm in total agreement with you: ridiculous.

Well, the main difference I've found (so far) is that you used to be able to set the page styles from the control panel and have that maintain those values.
Control Panel > Style & Colors > Page Styles > Site Layout
But now with the new "PageWrapper" CSS class added, it ignores those settings when you have a Custom StyleSheet enabled.

So all you need to do is add what TrueFist posted to re-center your page. But adjust the width (in red) to fit your site.
.PageWrapper { text-align: center; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; width: 100%; }

The 100% value just has it spread across the whole page. What I need to get back is an 800 width fixed site that is centered in the page in IE.

Ok I got the above back to normal in FF but in IE it's still not centered.

Is it me, or does it render differently on IE than Firefox?  The way my site (click me) renders on Firefox 3.0.4 is the way I want it to look.

Yes mine renders differently for me as well. In IE it shows up just like it did with the new CSS line only the table is not centered like I wrote above. But in FF it looks just like it did with the new line.

Could anyone check it out using the two browsers and tell me if you get the above results as well? If so I just need to find a way to get this thing right in IE.

Tempest a Warhammer Online Guild

Any suggestions would be great.

Getting both ie7 and FF to display the same is a ridiculous process of trial-and-error.  Don't even get me started on Chrome.  grrrr.

I hear ya man. This make me mad everytime something like this comes up. I thought the whole idea behind having a set of fixed standards was so everyone used the same fixed standards!!

Adding that to the body string messes up alot of other things on a page, while it fixes the alignment problem it isnt an optimal fix.

Can someone tell us a better way to center, nonscale our website content boxes?

If you use the body {text-align:center;} what happens is this:

Testament

It looks fine at a glance, but if you hover over the Class Tooltips things are centered, if you hover over the wowinsider tooltips on the right side, things are centered there too.

I'm sure you could individually set those to be left aligned however.

EDIT: I've also noticed that in FF with this fix, the content boxes are still left aligned to the browser.

To prevent your tooltip info from being centered... add this to your FOOTER. The reason is GP automatically adds this to the end of the CSS.
#dhtmltooltip { position: absolute; width: 150px; border: 1px solid white; padding: 3px; background-color: black; color: white; visibility: hidden; z-index: 100; text-align:left;}
The only change I made is in blue.

Thanks Mottie, i added it to my HEADER instead, since my footer tends to be wonky and i had my other #dhtmltooltip in my header any how. Worked fine.

Now i need to go and center all my forum topic cells..
