Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to

by Mottie
Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:
*Note: this is an old screenshot, but the code still works

Yes, it can. Although you will likely get better results using PNG, JPG or if you're looking for an animation, Flash.

Becoming Adept!
okay..n00b question here..
how can i make a banner image?? i want something like our guild name and Coat of Arms from our tabard, overlain on a Teldrassil or Darnassus type scene.. but i dont really know the first thing about web design.
I mean, can i just make an image on like paint or powerpoint or something, and upload it??
GP has a link for a website that will have you pay $100 for a banner image, and i would rather learn to do it myself.
any help would be awesome.
and another question, how do i get my pictures on a website for the URL to work, until i can convert my site into a "subscribed site" and upload from my own computer?
Here is my home page for Fist of the Arcane on Baelgun

Taltos...
Create an image the size and shape you want, and export it to .jpg format, and upload as your banner using the guildportal control panel.
Ideally you'd want a copy of Photoshop, or Paintshop or something of that nature. If you don't know how, or unwilling to torrent that, you'll have to invest some money in the software.
If you want something free and functional, google The Gimp for windows. It's photoshop-esque, and you can make some pretty sophisticated stuff if you have the patience to learn how to use it.
Powerpoint is not an image solution because it can't (I believe) export to jpg format. Though I suppose you could take a screenshot of something in powerpoint and crop it...kind of a cumbersome way to go about it though.
Otherwise you can probably whip up something simple in paint. Something as basic as an ingame screenshot, cropped to be wide and thin, and text applied can look better than some of the animated monstrosities you see on some of the pages around here.
To make pictures appear that are linked from other sites, you'll have to add an html tag that gives guildportal a way to find the image. Most of my pictures on my site are pulled from photobucket that way. The easiest way to go about this is to click on the very upper right hand button on the text formatting frame (visible whenever you're editing content) called ImagePathInserter. It looks like a couple mountains with a sun behind it. Click that, and type in the http:// link to the image you want to insert. You're done!
