I'm trying to remove the content title text on my site, which seems to be the final hurdle that eludes me! lol I've tried fiddling with the script listed in the post here but it didn't seem to work. The site is here if anyone could take a look. Sorry if this has been covered a billion times, but I didn't see it after browsing the forums for a couple of evenings. Thanks in advance!

** I've found posts saying to put these into the CSS but neither has worked. I'm not sure if they need to go anywhere inside the CSS specifically or what. :S I've tried to add the { display:none; } section to the existing title entry (I forget the exact name used) and that didn't work either.

.ContentBoxTitle2 { display:none; }
and/or
.ContentBoxTitleNoBackground { display:none; }

It looks like you added custom HTML for your content boxes, right?

I'm guessing since the title is a required element (I never tried NOT including it), maybe you can test it instead.

  1. Remove the "$block[title]" from your custom HTML

    Control Panel > Style & Colors > Content Boxes > Custom HTML... Change all three: left, center and right.

    If that doesn't work, go to step 2.

  2. In your custom HTML for content boxes, add

    <div class="ContentBoxTitle">$block[title]</div>

    to all three boxes: left, center and right.

    then add this CSS to your custom stylesheet:

    .ContentBoxTitle { display:none; }

Thanks for the reply, Mottie!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's working for me. I tried removing the "$block[title]" but that was a no go, at the top it says:

Required Elements:

$block[title]
$block[content]

When I save and go back, it reappears. I tried adding the custom HTML you listed for 2, and added the CSS. Just to verify, I can place this anywhere? Or does it need to replace an existing entry? I just put it in at the end of the very last }

Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it! This looks like the last meaty thing I have to do for the site before launch.

Oh ok, I guess I've been kind of out of it today =/

Add this to all three content boxes (this is all that should be in there)
<div class="ContentBoxTitle">$block[title]</div>
<div class="ContentBoxBody">$block[content]</div>
<br>
then add this CSS
.ContentBoxTitle { display:none; }
Click the Enable box, then save.

Sorry for all the confusion.

This isn't the same, but I didn't want to create a new thread for something in the same topic area.

Is there a way to raise the content box text? I had new content boxes that I created up on the site, but the text was too low, and made it look retarded.

Here's the CSS for the new content boxes, Mottie, if you wouldn't mind taking a quick look at this. I also have an issue with the bottom tile not spacing correctly.

.topleft { background: #800000 url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/topleft.png) no-repeat; height:44px; width:20px; }
.topbar { background: url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/toptile.png) repeat-x; height:44px; }
.topright { background: #800000 url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/topright.png) no-repeat; height:44px; width:20px; }
.lefttile { background: url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/lefttile.png) repeat-y; width:20px; }
.righttile { background: url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/righttile.png) repeat-y; width:20px; }
.bottomleft { background: #800000 url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/bottomleft.png) no-repeat; height:12px; width:20px; }
.bottomtile { background: url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/bottomtile.png) bottom left repeat-x; height:12px; }
.bottomright { background: #800000 url(http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bluesguy07/bottomright.png) no-repeat; height:44px; width:20px; }

Hey Ciannon!

To raise the content box title, you'll need to add this CSS:
.ContentBoxTitle { color: #ffffff; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-style: bold; position: relative; top: -10px; }
  • You were missing this CSS, so just add it somewhere in the custom stylesheet (you did have the ".ContentBoxTitleNoBackground"
  • I had to reduce the font size from 20 to 12pt.
  • Notice the "position: relative;" and the "top: -10px;". That makes thetitle box not anchor itself and then move it up 10 pixels... yes that'sa negative 10 pixels.
And for your content box borders, look in your code for ".bottomright" and change the height to 12px.

Thanks, I'll do that tonight at work.

Also, I did try it with bottomright being at 12px height, but it didn't do anything. But, I may be mistaken, so I'll try again.
