Same, though I have a conspiracy theory that anyone using Things like RPGO to provide Roster and Bank data, instead of the Guildportal ones, would be unlikely to achieve spotlight status as we are not using the "provided" modules.

I would love to be proved wrong on this.  Really Guildportal should be showing off sites that can demonstrate the GuildPortal is flexible enought to include others content.

Anyone know for a fact that it is taking 3/6 months for review process?  Also, are you notified one way or another that a decision has been made?

Well, there's nothing stopping you from copy/pasting the image into your own site.  Regardless of a review. 






Better yet make your own, have it say something like "PC magazine ~ Guild of the Year."  Who ever substantiates crap like this anyhow.


You see adverts all the time making claims like:

"Best pizza in town"
"Most bang for your buck"
 "Fastest car wash in the city"
"Best burger in town"

And my favorite (this applies to all sorts of things)  "Voted best bar in town!!"
"Voted best restaraunt in the city!"
"Voted game of the year!!"

These voting things are nice, but ask yourself... WHO voted, Joe Schmo??  Your grandmother? Neighbors dog?


Ask yourself if who you are being judged by holds merit and value, that's the key.

Out of curiosity, I looked over the 95 or so Spotlight guilds and most of them are impressive websites with seemingly great groups.  Here's what else I found. 

• 5 guilds have openly stated on their home page that they have disbanded
  
• 2 guilds have stated that rather than disbanding, they are dissolving and merging with someone else's guild
• 13 guilds are non subscribers
• 11 guilds have not posted any news items this year, with their last articles dating anywhere from 12-05-07 to 4-21-06
• 5 guilds are using the same theme
• 10 guilds have minimal site customization, baring a banner image or page tab images.
• 1 guild is featured twice

     I'm not saying any of this to criticize the guilds who currently have the spotlight.  Surely there is nothing wrong with using the same theme as others, or for merging with other guilds, or for not doing tons of site customization.
     However, I do believe that there are plenty of good guilds out there who are more than worthy of being awarded the Spotlight and who can advertise Guild Portal's capabilities much better than a guild that is disbanded or who is not paying for GP's services.
     Basically, I just want to remind the good folks at GP that you have loyal, enthusiastic customers who are wishing to be recognized with this shiny little trinket award.
