Hey all,

Here's the like to Piwik (kinda like Google Analytics for web stats).  I've installed it on my server and I'm trying to make it work with my guildportal site.  Only problem is that it records nothing.

How it works is that you need to put a javascript on pages you wanna record (I cant post the javascript in here it wont let me ).

I found out that link where they discribe some causes of the problem.

So here's my questions:

  • Can it actually works with Guildportal?
  • Where would be the best place to put that script?
  • Anyone has any idea on how to fix it?

If there's something not clear enough, dont be shy to ask

Thanks for your time and for the help!

* Updates:  I've tried to put the script in the custom code/Footer html and its giving me errors.
* Updates:  I've tried to put it in footer section text but the script is cut out when saved

Hi Firespirit!

I don't know if I can help because I don't know php very well nor how to work with MySQL at all. So unless another member can help, it might be best to ask questions on the Piwik site

Hi Mottie!

Well, php and piwik excluded, where would be the spot to place that script on my pages using the website control in Guildportal?  (They say its better to place if after the </body> tag of the pages).  And is that allowed by GP you think?  I've been trying to paste my scripts in some sections with no luck cause GP is cutting some part of it.

Heres the script i have to put into GP pages (I removed my server address) :

Hi Firespirit!

Well, try this. Add the code into the Custom JQuery area (Control Panel > Custom Code > Custom JQuery).

In the "Document.Ready Event Code:" box, just add:
return
In the "Functions:" box, add this:
</script>

{INSERT YOUR CODE HERE}

<script type="text/javascript>
The reason it starts with a closing tag for the script and ends with an opening tag is because the reverse is added automatically to the bottom of the page and the contents of the functions box is added between the tags, so it assumes you are adding javascript. With what I have above, you should insert HTML code - basically paste the code you have in your screen shot as is.

**WARNING!** If you don't add code into both the "Document.Ready Event Code" box and the "Functions" box and you save the code, you will end up with a blank page when you reload!

Hey Firespirit!

LOL, yeah you can get back to the control panel (or leave it open) by going to this link, don't worry, it won't let people not logged in as an admin to access it... change the Group (in red) in the link to match your GuildID of your site URL.
