*You hear a clear crisp commanding voice in your heads.*

Hello Mortal. I am assuming that you are interesting in information regarding Nero and my actions of late.

Well I feel gracious enough to lend a hint to those worthy enough to follow.

Don't think you have any chance of stopping me as I have already proven to these pathetic souls how futile fighting me is.

*A crisp haunting image floats into your mind*

I am unstoppable it is foolish to try. I have left the fate of these Individuals in your hands.

I have arranged them in a manner that I find pleasing and intend to leave them to you to save. I have no more interest in them.

*Another image stings into your mind*

As  final warning in less then 96 hours from when you recieve this message these statues will crumble killing utterly thier former selves.

May you find peace in the oblivion that you are charging into.

*With a searing flash the two mental images are almost litterally burned into your mind. The pain at first is sharp and quick then fades to a dull ache. After that the pain is no more.*

(I would like to thank those who volenteered for my pictures. You guys may be new but you rock! Thank you Dyhr Feliiz Verucca and Alasia.)

Sprue awakes with a start and grabs her head in agony.  "I can't feel my legs.. I can't feel.. oh.."  Empty bottles of ale fly everywhere as Sprue realizes that she her legs are not made of stone,  they are pinned beneath a massive construct defender.  "Slash!!!"  She shoves at the constuct dog and sprains her wrist.  "Slash!  Get off!  How many times have I told you beds are for Halflings!"

Slash raises its massive head, snarls and slowly allows gravity to pull it off the bed.  Sprue watches as it turns around 5 times counterclockwise and lies down with a clang, and a crush of glass.   Sprue mutters something about not being paid enough to babysit a certain Warforged's pets.  "Where is your brother, Pierce?"  Sprue looks over the edge of the bed and spies red glowing eyes peering out from underneath the bed frame.  The movement and the darkness brings the vision back to her and she grabs her head in pain again.

For a little bit she thought, in her hungover stupor, that this was just some dream.  Then she remembered that Nero had been turned to stone while she was away on 'business' in Sharn.  "I sure hope Juryrig didn't get that vision.."  She laughs to herself, through the horror of the vision, at the placement of the statues.  "That crazy forged can't get enough of water features and statuary."

Sprue jumps down from the bed, stepping gingerly over broken glass.  She focused on the vision and another crack of pain shot through her temple.  Sprue hung the thick, redstone around her neck and proceeded to get dressed.  'Well', she thought, 'It would have to be today'.  She clicked her tongue at her lack of determination and shoved the pain back down inside of her.  'I better find some guildmates.  If this vision is true.. theres not alot of time before theres  more gravel to throw in the bay'.

"Slash & Pierce, STAY!  If anyone beside me and your papa come in here.. keep them alive at least will yah?"  Sprue heard Slash snarl in reply as she locked the door behind her and wandered out into Stormreach.

Cerulean remembered the last "battle" he had with the entity appearing as Nero' s form. In the end, the last "attack" was apparently an illusion and the hall remained, and his friend Dali appeared to be rescued and recovered.

But he never forgot the voice in his head.

The voice.

Telling how "amusing" his time was, and he looked forward to meeting him again.

This would bother many, but to Cerulean,  it bothered him more.

Only recently was he blessed with that kind of communication, and was now able to seeing the true forms and block attacks of trickery and mental deceit.

But this...this thing played with his mind and his emotions he recently obtained as if training a simple puppy.

He vowed he would become stronger, stronger to find Nero, and return him, no matter what.

And he allowed himself to make merry the night before to relax and refocus for the battle ahead.

And for one brief moment...he felt confident. Confident enough that he would have time to prepare. Time to become stronger. Time to make the...thing meet the Fellowship on their terms, not its.

Then the message was sent. Images not simply of Nero's fate.....but the fate of several innocents sentenced to death...all for...this thing's idea of a lanceboard game using real beings as pawns.

96 hours...that's all they had. 96 brief hours.  5760 minutes......345600 seconds...several already lost.

So now, every act is a race against the inevitable end of the deadline...the final end if he did not succeed.

So when he gained yet another training advancement (2 in as many days,) allowing access to the sixth circle of wizard arcana, a powerful banishing weapon, even the fabled Clever Helm of six exponentials...those victories seemed hollow compared to what was at stake.

I must find a Tome of Clear thought double than the one found before...I must become as powerful as any being possible...I only have 72 hours left...I cannot fail...I cannot.

[OOC At the time of this post, Cerulean now thanks to the Welcome Back Weekend has a Banishing weapon, a +20% striding boots of Springing+5 Jump, a +13 Open Lock Gloves and yes, he got his +6 Intelligence helm...utterly worthless until he finds a Tome of Clear Thought +2 to even his int to 32. He now is Level 13.2 (11 wizard/2 rogue) and rising fast...but will he become powerful enough in time.....]

*As she's stepping away from the cleric Trainer that just awarded her advancement, she whistles a jaunty little tune and thanks the fellow for the help. Her customary smile is in place as she steps over the threshold into the tavern at the back of house Jorasco's domain, only to be wiped completely clear of her features as a wave of nausea spills into her gut. Concern turns instantly to a crippling blast of searing pain that drops her to her knees, a soundless scream stretching her mouth wide as her sight is stolen at the pressure stabbing into the backs of her eyeballs. A voice announces it's diabolical schemes directly into her head, but she fails to take note of the words as the mental projection tortures her to a crumpled heap of unconscious halfling on the floor of the Open Palm Inn.*

*zoltando's eyes open and he grins wickedly* "I found you" zolt stated. Slowly he concentrated on all that he had learned of his heritage to become true shadow. He raced atop the rooftops toward that things domain all the while worrying about it's plans for Liyra.

Zoltando finally reached the "thing's" layer and hid waiting for others to come. It nearly killed him to wait and wonder what might become of Liyra but he knew he could not take that thing on by himself.

So now he would wait, hidden in shadow for another to serve as a distraction. Soon this fool who took his friend would be nothing more than a corpse cooling on the floor. *zoltando settled back into an alcove near the things layer and meditated, waiting for his distraction to come.

A depleted scroll of true seeing lay discarded in the doorway. An adventures backpack with half it's contents spilled out across the floor.  The sound of metal rang against stone tiled floor.
"Someone get down here and help me!" Jaggie's blade dug deep into the stone floor as she chipped and hacked away, desperately trying to free the statue that was once flesh and blood.
A young elf and his halfling companion stared blankly down into the room below. How, in the name of the sovereign, could they free what looked like nearly 100 men and women, transformed to stone and bound to the floor?
"They are not all real! Help!" The tile beneath the statue finally gave in to the strikes of the blade and releasing itself from the hard packed earth beneath. Jaggie dropped her now bathered sword - if would probably never hold a point ever again-to catch the toppling statue before it risked shattering upon hitting the floor.
Dragging the stone man to the ladder Jaggie paused looking confusingly between the ladder and statue.  There was no way she could carry the statue up those wooden planks.  "If you wont help free them, then get me some rope and hall this one up." She looked around, "and trow down my pack!" The shimmering mirage of the fake statues began to take on the appearance of real stone again. The true seeing had faded and she'd need to caste it again in order to pick out the 3 remaing real statues from the fake.

She had intended to only come to House Jorasco to gather some resurrection scrolls.  It seemed like a good idea to have them. The idea of true seeing scrolls had came to her the night before. Better to fight an illusionist when you know what is real and what is merly a trick to the eye.
When she came to the inn, it was only because she heard rumors of  the statues.  The barkeep couldn't explain it, nor could he explain why he had not alarmed the  denieth guards. At least he provided some insight. When accidentally struck by a curious and drunken patron one of the statues had simply disintegrated into nothing. This proved the possibility of them not truly being real.

Two more depleted true seeing scrolls after, the first having failed, and Jag was slashing away at the barrel the next real statue was bound to.

*Meanwhile elseware*

Anyone that is in the guildhall at the time. (A time arranged to see the most people in the guildhall at once) Hear  a heavy knocking sound at the door. Upon checking what lies beyond said door. You notice what seems to be a Human dressed in a brown outfit with a hat and clipboard. His garment possesses strange markings as does his elementally powered cart behind him. He says to the first person that opens the door.

"Hello a Package for a Mr. Zoltando"

"Please Sign for the package here and I'll be on my way."

*If you choose to accept the package you notice him lug a large halfling sized crate towards the door. Upon there he gets back on his cart and proceeds to his next delivery spot.*

Upon Inspection this box seems to be an ordinary large crate you might find in any large warehouse and you can detect no signs of movement coming from the crate.

Should you decide to open it. (Whatever person wants to take charge of this duty by all means do so.) Inside is a statue. This statue looks like an equisit peice of work very lifelike and you notice it looks EXACTLY like Liyra!!!! Unfortunatly no forms of restoration seem to be working and the statue seems completely dead and devoid of life...

(Liyra before you get angry with me check your PM's)

After watching Jaggie walk into the Inn that was supposedly the illusionist's layer Zolt awoke from his meditation and followed her in without being seen. After watching Jaggie help several of those who had been turned to stone Zolt realized that there seemed to be no sign of the Impersonator. "dammit I cant wait" stated Zolt as he allowed himself to be seen and began helping jaggie with the statues.

Sprue hated mornings mixed with hangovers.  She dug a cap out of her backpack and slammed the down on head to the bridge of her nose.  Even the light reflecting from the cobblestones seemed to enjoy the pain it was inflicting.  She focused on the heavy redstone amulet around her neck.  Normally the coolness of the stone against her chest would be comforting.  Today, as it did every time the anniversary passed, it seemed to only serve as a steady beat of pain.

She rounded a corner,  heading for the nearest entrace of a the guildhall.  *wham!*  Sprue sprawled out on the street, her aruse painfully mocking her for being lost in thought.  She cursed at her luck for being bested by a large crate.  It seemed to be a delivery for the guildhouse.  Sprue opened the door and spent the next fifteen minutes slowing shoving the heavy pallet through the door.

'Keeper take me, what in khyber is in this thing?"  Sprue's annoyance took over and she unsheated a shortsword.  She glared at the blade and shoved it in between the seams of the crate.  "Most expensive and least effective prybar," she muttered as the front edge of the crate gave way.  Straw spilled out onto the floor revealing a small, delicate stone hand.  She nervously reached in and yanked the remaining straw out of the crate.  Staring back at her was the petrified face of Liyra, eyes frozen in horror.  Stunned, Sprue's legs gave out beneath her.  She pulled a small flask from her backpack, drained it and stared at Petrified Liyra in utter devastation.

Cerul;ean's body was found in the Tor nearly completely broken, his hands unable to be loosened around his staff and component pouch. It would be days before he could be restored to his body and days after that before the tramua of that return would pass.

When he was able to speak again, he simply asked....
"Did they survive....?"

(OOC 26 K neg XP gone later he's finally in a better class of potency, but failed runs stink....)
