It is good that I am here now. I have already come across several disturbing notions, albeit worded very beautifully. These tend to come from the Elder Races, proud of there long memory and heritage, but I can tell you that the DeadBane Families Memories run deep too.
I have an immediate need to put right some...wayward thoughts that some members may have concerning the undead. I will do this by reciting one of our Ministers canticles, but first I shall qualify there truth.
The DeadBane Family is charged with defending one of the lower posts, one of the pillars at the gates of hell. I can reveal no more about its location. Knowledge and wisdom has been passed directly form Father to Son for millennia, in a strict regimented form, as chants or canticles. They have not changed for the whole of this time, and there meaning is clear. Listen.

(emote)' Hellgard taps the base of his crucufix against the floor in rythmn with his low chanting'

Forgotten not, the deadman's soul,
Having entered light, achieved the goal,

No more to suffer, no more to sing,
But continued peace, the light will bring,

But evil wish, animated hate,
Has corrupted bliss, escaped the gate,

To seize the husk, of our fallen man,
The deadman's flesh, used in the devil's plan,

So have no love, for this heartless doll,
It has no life, in its evil role,

It is merely flesh, animated by thought,
There was no decision, it was not bought,

So smash it down! Cut it apart!
I swear on life, it has no heart!

Do not be fooled, into false compassion,
For this rotting meat, capable of action.

I hope this clears up any wayward thoughts. My door is always open.

Anduil looks up at the chanting cleric, "I am curious as to these 'notions' you speak of and why you are distubed at what we think?  From the sounds of it, we abhor the undead even more than you, for they are an abomination of the Natural Order.  They should be destroyed on sight.  I know of no Elf who believes otherwise."  The Elven Ranger waited patiently for the Cleric's reply.

Long in tha past, least long for you human folk, and even a good time passed for us dwarves and elves, not all was as it be now.  Many know of the dragon marks, but few still know of the 13th dragon mark.

"Aye thats right I said 13 nae 12 as now, but 13 marks of 13 great houses.."

The 13th mark was tha Mark of death, and as you can guess with its mark came great power, power the other houses couldn't and wouldn't accept!

A war raged amongst the houses till every member who bore the 13th dragon mark, lay dead..  But one lass survived, some mutter her name in darkness with evil in there heart, while others meer common folk cherish her name and her promise of a life after death with all there hearts...

Vol be her name and ye be a wise man if ye be respecting tha faith of others, a faith far older than most ye humans worship!

To the Blood only the free willed undead are held with esteem, for they have earned there exalted place by Vols side, and still fight for her cause even after death, as for the abominations known as skeletons and zombies, meer husks, to be destroyed on sight, the sad remanent of those lost to the keeper and the curse of mortality laid upon us by the sovereign host...

Hope this answered some of yer questions lad, but if not feel free ta seek me out in tha tavern...
