Clash of the Titans


"But. . . That's not why I'm here. . ." Ragyr's voice seemed to echo in the guild hall. He grinned as Deriaz stared in confusion. "What? You didn't think I was just here to just chit chat for a bit, and then leave, now, did you?"

Deriaz shook his head. "Of course not, you've always got a motive."

Ragyr laughed. "Good! So you do know me. Well, runt. . . Tell me, what do you know about my occupation?" He began to circle Deriaz slowly.

Deriaz stalled for a moment. His occupation? "What? You mean an assassin?"

"I prefer the term bounty hunter now, but sure, let's go with that."

"You take a job, kill the person, and you get money."

Ragyr snapped his fingers. "Good! Now, can you tell me what someone like me would need to start an occupation like this?"

Deriaz thought for a minute, this time in actual thought. "I don't know, money?"

"Yes, money. I need money, to buy weapons, a good Docent, maybe some--"

Deriaz cut him off. "But I have no money, Ra--" He stalled, but realized he was going to have to start using his name eventually, now that they weren't one. "--Ragyr. You know that. I have ten platinum to my name!"

Ragyr stopped in front of Deriaz, and turned his head to look at him. It was at this moment Deriaz realized the Adamantine Long Sword that Epox had given him was on his back. "Exactly. So, how would you get the money?"

Deriaz shrugged. "Take an easy job?"

Ragyr grinned, and with a flick of his wrist, materialized a slip of paper. "Maybe this will refresh your memory." He turned to face Deriaz completely, holding the slip out to him. "Go ahead."

Deriaz eyed it carefully, but opened it. A moment later, his eyes went wide. On the left side of the paper was a scaled drawing of Deriaz, almost to his exact detail. To the right, it read:

Ragyr turned his head, and grinned at the sight of Jaggie. "Good, I've got an audience. Maybe this will help my name a bit." He turned back to Deriaz. "Or maybe it's just more fun for me, hm?"

He dug the sword into Deriaz's stomach slowly, grinning at the sight of Deriaz squirming under it. Once he felt it hit the wall behind him, he left him pinned to the wall, and turned to Jaggie. With a snap, a quarterstaff materialized in his hand. He spun it around a few times, while taking a few steps toward her. He stopped, and pointed one end at his 'audience'.

"You'd leave, if you know what's best for you."

 

Sho heard the sonic attack, even outside the guildhall. As fast as he could, he ran towards the sound, without running into walls, by using his new wooden quarter staff. As Sho ran into the room, he saw outlines of three warforged, and heard there voices. Jaggie, Deriaz, and Ragyr?

“What is going on!?” Sho yelled. “Ragyr!? If you ruin any of our plans I will kill you! What the hell are you doing?!”

Ragyr stumbled back, not expecting the spell. It was looking to be an easy kill, but apparently, Jaggie had tricks up her sleeve. He growled, and moved to attack again, but stopped as Sho entered the guild hall. He heard him yell, "Ragyr!? If you ruin any of our plans I will kill you! What the hell are you doing?!"

He glared back. "Doing something I've never had the chance to do before. And no, I'm not ruining your plans. This was only supposed to be between me and Deriaz, but you two--" He trailed off, seeing Zoltando enter. "--Three, seem to think differently."

He stepped back to Deriaz, lifting him up again, as the sword slipped out of him, clattering to the ground. "Say a word, and I swear to you, I'll burn the journal." Ragyr grinned to himself, as Deriaz's eyes widened in pain and shock. The effect he wanted. That journal held everything Deriaz wanted to remember.

Ragyr's hand grabbed around the back of Deriaz's head, and he turned his own to face the three. "Fine. If you want to fight me," he grinned, as the metal turned to blue, and his eyes changed to orange, "then let's see how well you know who's your enemy, and who's your friend." With a tug, he ripped Deriaz's orange mask off his face. The two looked identical, now that both faces were visible. Ragyr threw it away, as it landed at Jaggie's feet.

Deriaz turned his face away quickly, trying not to let the others see it. He didn't trust them enough, not with that bounty flier lying in the same room. Ragyr's voice into his head again. "Follow my lead, Deriaz. If you don't follow this exactly, I swear to you, I'll burn more than just the journal. Got that?" Deriaz nodded. "Good. I want you to fake like you're fighting me, alright? Confusion is probably the best course, seeing as what we're--I'm--up against here." Deriaz nodded again, and his reply was a strong fist in his face. Deriaz followed orders, and grabbed Ragyr, twisting him around like he was trying to pull him to the ground. Ragyr remained upright, continuing to punch Deriaz, but leaving no marks.

After a few seconds, they stopped spinning, and split. It was difficult to tell the two apart. Both were the same height, both had the same markings. . . To attack one might mean to attack Deriaz.

"Say a word, and I swear. . ."

After Jaggie and Zol got out of the way, he motioned Deriaz and Ragyr to start walking out.  As the two walked out, Sho followed, and told Jaggie and Zol to stay back.  As they got to the top of the stairs, Sho stopped.

"You forgot the type of person I was Ragyr." Sho said as he pushed the warforged in front of him, into the other forged, making them loose balance, and fall out the window.  After hearing the forged crash, Sho jumped out after them, landing on who ever was on top. Sho stepped off them.

"Damn, you are starting to make me look bad Ragyr!" Sho yelled. "Come, follow, we shall hide from Zol and Jaggie and the Fellowship.  When you explain yourself, I will fix your malfunction, and we will be on our way."
As he spoke, SHo helped pull up the two, and motioned them to follow quickly...
