She drew back further into her cloak as the figure entered the guild hall. It was a familiar figure, and yet she could not quite place it. She reached back in her memory to those days...but it was out of reach.
Her position across the road from the hall had allowed her to silently note many comings and goings this day. Her dark eyes absorbed the night, taking in all the details of her one time home. It looked as ever - a beacon of strength in a troubled land. It beckoned to her in an almost bewitching way.
And yet something kept her from crossing to the door. She would watch a while longer.
He lowered his head slightly and continued, “…since we felt the rush of the battle against Stormreach’s enemies.”
As the elf came closer a familiar sweet perfume invaded Ari’s senses. His mind was flooded with memories of the times he sat long hours talking with the priestess. He felt the hand on his should and heard her melodic voice, and he sighed.
“Eli,” Aristoblis said, almost sadly, “it is truly a pleasure. I know that you, of all people, will not judge me.”
Ari raised his head and looked to Elisan. The silvery gray hair that used to hang from under his hood was instead stark white, his pale gray skin was distinctly darker. The only things that remained unchanged were those silvery eyes; still shadowed under his hood, not quite visible, and not at all hidden.
“Join us, won’t you?”
