(OOC land again YAY!)

*On a dark day when the lookalike went away then lone statue in the corner lit up unexpectedly and unprovoked. A faint musical voice emanated from within*

The air cackles slightly as the magic grows.

"Give to me the life I love" Sings the statue.
"Let the lave go by meeeee."
"Give the jolly heaven aaabove.
"And the byway nigh me."
"Bed in the Bush with staaaars to see."
"Bread I dip in the riiiver."
"Theres the Life for a man like me."
"Theres the life. Fooorever"

The Statue remains still again but then the magic increases two fold as the singing resumes.

"Let the blow fall soon or late."
"Let what will be o'er me."
"Give the face of earth aaaround."
"And the road befooore me.
"Wealth I seek not. Hope nor love."
"Nor a friend to knooow me!"
"All I seek the Heaven above."
"And the road. "
"Below me."

The statue falls silent for a brief moment before the singing returns significantly louder and much more powerful. The magic in the air reaches a near breaking point as the statue begins to shine. The mood of the voice changes to a more haunting yet powerful tone.

"Or let autumn fall on me."
"In a field I liiinger."
"Silencing The bird on tree!"
"Biting the blue finger!"

The voice calms for a moment.

"White as meal the frosty field.
"Warm the fireside haaaven."

The voice resumes almost violently as the magic in the air increases even more dramaticly the statue shines with a bright white blinding light.

As the last note strings out. The magic seems to rupture the very air itself as a small barely notice-able crack is seen in the statue.

The magic fades rapidly and the statue grows dark again.

*Any bards directly connected to music and magic greatly would probably be able to see this in a dream. If you do connect to this you at the end feel something powerful has awakened.*

((Strictly ooc question - are we still aiming for saturday? I have a watergarden club all weekend so I won't be on at all, but thursday I'm going to be handing over some items to the 'rescue party' to help them if they're going after ya saturday.

Good call on the bard connection, we have a ton of them in the guild lol, so someone should be able to pick up on that. Varro would pick up on it if it related to happiness, joy, desire, etc. But he and Uxor are already up to something in regards to helping the rescue team... if anything it would serve to them as indication that Nero is still out there somewhere if Varro can get a fix on WHO was singing it. i.e. Not too late for Nero

42342 rested on the cool slab that served as at roof to the tomb.  The darkness of the necropolis caressed him like a long lost lover, silence a roar in his ears.  Below, the reflections of moonbugs reflected on the still waters, roving constellations to match the one in the skies above.  Lharvion cast a dim light on the sleeping meatbag below.

The meatbag had appeared early in the evening.  His somber march towards the tombs below portrayed the grief he carried.  42342 felt some mild annoyance at the meatbag's presence.  He had entertained thoughts of how he might quell the wailing below and return silence's embrace.  The human finally put away his melancholy lute and cried himself to sleep.

42342 was performing the rites in silence when the meatbag below started murmering in his sleep.  A wailing song drifted upwards like rising smoke.  The voice did not belong to the meatbag below, it echoed off the tomb over and over.
'Interesting,' 42342 thought to himself.  42342 hummed the songs refrain in his mind as he stared at the dim outline of the sickle before him.

Again, Cerulean was in his state of thought, no questions...just nothingness......

"...Theres the Life for a man like me."
"Theres the life. Fooorever...."

The words were like a plunk of a rock into a flowing river. Again, he focused on nothing, concentrating on not concentrating, letting.....

"...Nor a friend to knooow me!"
"All I seek the Heaven above."
"And the road. "
"Below me...."

Again, the rocks seemed to plummet into his own flow. He did not anger, he remembered all was his own choice, he would remain focused on....

"...Silencing The bird on tree!"
"Biting the blue finger!...."

The (badly sung) words were as jarring now as being bit on his finger.
Focus....strong emotion leads to passion which leads to suffering when not obtainable...Find your inner peac....

The words of passion resonated and empathetic brought out Cerulean's:

Cerulean broke his trance with a sudden jolt, yelling,
"Nerogodfire, he lives he lives!"

He quickly found the others whom he knew must had received the message (politely apologizing to Uxor explaining his outburst first,) to begin rescue attempts and the....understanding that on SixthDay this was a certain death mission they would willingly walk into for any one of the Fellowship.

*The lookalike storms into his chamber having sensed a disturbance.*

"Nero! What on Xoriat do you think your doing."

The statue glows and shudders. "I am breaking free of your hold on me. I have regained my power and am now more then a match for you."

"Well It seems the little bird has grown out his wings I think it is time for me to clip those wings and make myself some roast turkey leg."

"You can try doppleganger but just wait till I am free. I... WILL... DESTROY... YOU!"

"Well in that case it is time to step up my plan. I can't have you breaking free on me. The just wouldn't do at the next evil villain reunion."  The lookalike pauses for a moment and studies that statue." At your current rate you should be free by late  on the sixthday evening. I find it fitting to absorb you right as your power caps out.  So  I shall begin the ritual at 9 PM in the evening just before you max out and therefor gaining the most power possible."

"Even if you kill me doppleganger. I'll find a way back."

"Well Nero thats where your wrong. You see to find a way back you would have to die. I am not killing you I am making you one with myself and you soul shall reside with me permanantly until my death and with your power that will never happen." The lookalike grins wickedly. "You see the true benifits of my plan? Immortality and Infinite power are nice perks but I what I really want is your identity, you sense of being, your right to exist."

"Grr" Mumbles the statue.

"Well Nero" States the lookalike evily. "You know are on an official time limit. The ritual will begin on the sixthday. (Saturday.) at 9 O'clock. (Thats 9 PM EST. Sprue picked the time so blame her.) The ritual will take one hour to complete and after that you will be no more foolish one."

*The room grows dark as the lookalike leaves the room.*

(This is an official date setting. There is no other chances. If Nero is not saved by that time he will dead permanently unless you guys get really creative.)

Cerulean repacked again, checking his specific loadout as if he were back in the Rangers again...hopefully another "Last War" for all as well.

Amidst the joy of celebration and the pain of receiving Sho's execute on sight order, Cerulean felt as if we were one of those human taffies.

But more immediate things focused him now...

Nero...I will save you.....

When the time came to ask who could help mount Nerogodfire's rescue that sixday at begging of the eve [Saturday July 14,th 6 PM EDT,] he did not hesitate to step forward.

While many were bound by oath to other activities that day, even they offered their support: The vial that would help free Nero...the flyer that gave a name of...unknown help for now...the scrolls added to his own that suppressed magic itself and the...two items....saving him from getting a Staff of Power.

The two items all arcanists knew too well, and all mundanes were told never to mix.

Two different extradimensional spaces...if everything fails...he would stop the threat for good through this and lay his personal sacrifice to make sure.

...or I will die stopping the mockery that tries to take you from us.

[OOC, OK folks, as listed above this even is this Saturday at 6 PM at the cleared out Prison of the PLanes on Thelanis. I dunno when he can log into the forums next but Nero did want me to welcome every one of you who can help and show up. Gifts and fun...assuming we follow.]

I have heard some disturbing comments about Nero's departure.

I understand that when he came back despite every effort by the guild he was pissed, made some derogatory remarks and then quit the guild.

Will some witnesses please come forward and state what happened?

I have not and will not make any derrogatory remarks to the guild. Its not the fact that they made an effort that made me mad. Its a combination of factor one being that my ISP decided to have an issue the very hour of my event. Second you guys went on without me. Third you guys declared you failed.  I already stated in event of your failure Nero would be gone forever unless something creative was done.

The last straw that broke the camels back was when they said they threw the vial at the statue of Nero with their last strength and Sprue said she destroyed it mid route thinking it was something else.

With Nero being dead he cannot rp and if he cannot rp i see no point in keeping him in a rp guild. My other characters are still alive and well and thus are remaining.

And regarding effort. What about the time I took to farm good items for everyone for prizes....  Zolts Item took almost 4 weeks.... If I ever see the quest Head of Ghola Fan again it'll be too soon.

Sorry to hear you are so upset Nero.  I reget that you are blaming me for the ending.  I would like to at least tell yah though that my comments in guildchat I believe you are taking out of context.  All 12 of us fought and lost.  My groups died endlessly in POP, we couldn't defeat the rooms.  The end discussions were about what to do with everyone chiming in.  Sprue has no clue about vials and what they do.. all she knows is the warforged started spouting suicide mission and the only solution was to kill all of us.  *shrug*    I think we were all trying our best to figure out what to do... and if I made you mad.. I apologize.. it was not my intent.  We were all just throwing out ideas.  For my part I was really trying my best to help you out.. (come on.. lvl 9 ranger with tangleroot gear in POP  LOL!)  I did my best and it appeared everyone else had similar intent.  I wish you the best, Nero.

(Well as long as Nero has his other chars alive and well that is something. I am sad to hear that the way this worked out kinda put everyone everywhere at once

I will say that everyone needs to be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery careful about last minute 'changes' or drama in situations, especially as they relate to other people's story archs.

For the sake of example, the incident where one of the characters was attacked and almost killed in the middle of Varro's proposal to Ux kinda perturbed me. However, I ended up enjoying the results even more, so it worked out ok. Not everyone is going to be as forgiving of when they have a story headed in a direction, and another player interjects/interceeds in a way that can totally change the outcome of their story line.

This goes back to Ask. Sure, it's very dramatic and surprising to suddenly have something go not the way you anticipate... but you can accomplish the same thing by asking first. For myself, I would have really appricated a 'hey... when Ux and Varr are doing their thing, something bad is going to happen, is that ok?'  you don't have to say exactly what is coming, but just some indication that there are about to be complications. Maybe my brain and story is so loaded with drama and conflict that I kinda want to take a break from it, and I don't want another. There does come a point when 24/7 your character is fighting and conflicting etc etc, and there is such a thing as stories that don't have to revolve around conflict at all, and can be very enjoyable. So...ask. Ask. Ask ask ask ask ask ask ask ask ask ask ask. PM. /tell. send emails. Send in game mails. COMMUNICATE first, because if you don't, the communicating you'll get in the middle of the moment is not going to be pleasent

In an instance when the main story person is not available, the basic rule of thumb is don't try to splash in flavor and change things without being able to consult that person about it first. Example: let's say Nero's computer went belly up on him, and he was out of game for a month before he could even get back to us. The appropriate way to handle such a situation is to find a way to write YOURSELF out, not suddenly invent the ending for him. Real life happens, and as RPers, we have to be ready to pause a story. If you are in a situation where you feel that your character will be 'stuck' you have two options

- Write yourself out
- Play an alt character until you can return to that 'stuck' story spot

I have had characters 'stuck' in a story spot because I can't get with the other 2 to 3 writers (this is in my freeform group, not my ddo group) and they were stuck there for literally 6 months. So what had to be done was to create an alternate character to write about and play for the times when the one other available player was around. The two of us would write these alternate characters, then months down the road, when the other 2 players were available, we picked up where we left off with the 'stuck' story and got it finished.
