hrm.... Struggling to figure out how to change the character associated with the account, since only a couple of people ever met Kara. But this is Red / Spellfury.

Sunky sat in the loft of the oddly quiet Phoenix Tavern, strangely absent of it's usual crowded tavern goers. He was flipping through a large book, going through a strange box he hadn't opened since purchasing it from the strange gnome merchant. On the box was a couple of humans dressed in odd clothing, running through a cream colored maze, with white papers flying all around them. In big neat letters read, "Cubicles and CEOs"

The book Sunky was reading through was titled, "Player's Manual" and he was casually flipping through the game. From what he seemed to understand of the rather complex system, the point was for your character to climb the 'Corporate Ladder' to reach the highest level of your profession. Gaining more wealth and influence as you got higher, this was done by impressing the 'higher-ups' by completing certain job tasks. To do this each player chose one of the professions that worked together to solve different problems.

There was the Clerk, the front line fighter who did most of the work. Accountants who used magic with numbers to manipulate the environment, give the team the funding they needed to complete their tasks, and make sure they got bonuses for staying under budget. Human Resourcer, who kept the team motivated, lifted moral, and made sure nobody's stress damage got too high that they would quit. Technicians, who kept everybody's gear and equipment working, and knew how to prevent glitches, that would cause stress and even possible failure. And finally Supervisors, who seemed to be the group leaders and were able to keep managers at bay long enough for the group to get their jobs done.

Sunky opened up the box, spilling it's contents across the long table. Several types of many different sides of dice rolled across the table, along with several character sheets, a few maps, and lots of different tokens.  Sunky found another small book titled, "Office Manager" and started flipping through it. The Office Manager seemed to be the player in charge of running the game for the others, using their imagination to bring the game to life, and offer challenges for the other players, he started flipping through the guide and thought contemplatively at the various tasks the others would have to accomplish.

Valianna paused at the top of the ramp, glass of juice in hand, and watched the little coloured objects rolling across the table in front of Sunky.  Curious, she wandered over and set her glass on the table, picking up one of the dice as she took a seat and smiled at Sunky.

"Hi!  What are these?" she asked, turning over the small object in her hands and counting the many faces.  "They look odd..."

She looked over the papers, maps, books and peculiar little objects strewn across the table, then back at Sunky, wondering what he was up to.

Sunky looked up, smiling at the familiar face, "hi there Vali, it's just a game I picked up in my travels, a rather complicated one at that. I think it was invented by an overly creative mind with far too much free time on their hands. Been wanting to try it out for ages, but have yet to find anybody to play with."

Sunky then did his best to explain the dice, and their various uses. As well as the overall premise of the game.

It had been a long couple of days for the new recruits of the Golden Night; between partying, being introduced to their mentors and everyone else this side Sharn, and some mild hazing it was enough to wear anyone out. Even the human bard, Lyrick Dandelion, was taking his naps wherever he could get them.

Including underneath one of the Phoenix's tables in the 'loft'.

Only his legs would have been visible to the pair of guild-members ruminating over the dice and rulebooks on the larger table, if they had bothered to check behind them to glance at the smaller tables scattered near the edge of the balcony. But while they may not have seen him just yet, they certainly heard him as he let out a mighty, troll-like snore.

Moments later he began to mutter lightly in his sleep.

"Mmm...No! No don't bite...Nasty spiders...Nmmzzz"

Valianna listened closely to Sunky's explanations, trying to grasp the concept of the game.

"So, let me get this straight...  In this game, I pretend to be somebody from another world, doing the things they would do?  How is that fun, to play at doing another job when I already have one in this world?"  She flipped through the book with a puzzled frown.  "And these people don't even have any weapons - how are they supposed to kill the monsters of their world?  How do you win the game?  Is there some kind of wager on who can achieve the highest, er..." she checked the book again, "...'level'?"

Her questions were suddenly disrupted by a loud snorting sound behind her, and she jumped to her feet and looked around for the source of the noise.  Spotting a pair of feet poking out from under a nearby table, she glanced back at the other elf with a raised eyebrow and then cautiously approached, peering under the table to see who was there.

"Lyrick?"  She prodded the bard gently with one boot as he muttered to himself.  "Um... are you okay down there?"

Sunky leaned over the side of the table, inspecting the legs underneath, then poked them experimentally with his legs. Answering Vali's question, "I think it's just something to flex your imagination a bit and spend some time with friends. The players have to use their minds to solve problems, rather than always resorting to weapons."

While the others poked and prodded Lyrick, Skibo-Jahgo leaned over to look at this book titled 'Play'er-s Hand book.' Her grasp over the common written language was poor despite all the tutelage that Belashyra provided her with, and this young mixed blooded drow struggled threw several paragraphs before reaching out to snatch one of the character sheets. "I can be a a'count'ant, yes?"

Her brown eyes glittered has she plopped herself down into one of the chairs and started writing srictchy letters onto the sheet of paper. "What are stats? Do I use play'er book to write stats?"  Skipbo looked at the dice resting on the table. "Oh? May I get to roll that dice with the many sides and numbers? Oh I hope so. This game should be fun. Yes."

Sunky smiled at the Drow, "yes I think it should be fun, according to the rules, the first step is to pick a character class, then your stats, and then we go about completing our tasks as best we can."

Vaaylun makes his way into the Phoenix Tavern. As he walks into "Drinking" area, he looks to the loft. As soon as he realizes, there are officer's of the Fellowship up there. He rushes up the ramp,as he makes his way into their sight. He halts, and waves. His eyes scan across the table at the dice., and he speaks."So are we uh, gunna gamble?"

((Only one officer at the moment, Vaaylun...  )

"Use your mind?" Vali chuckled at Sunky's explanation.  "Not sure how good I'd be at that, then, but I guess I could try!"  Leaving the bard where he slept for the moment, she returned to the table and smiled at little Skipbo, peering over the girl's shoulder at the book.

"This 'Technician' sounds like it might be Points' sort of thing, but I think I'd rather play at being a regular Clerk.  It sounds less complicated," she grinned.

She turned at the sound of another new arrival, and nodded politely to the Drow as he waved.  "I'm not sure, er... Vaylon, was it?  It's some kind of game of imagination, but I don't know if we wager on the outcome or not."  She gave Sunky a querying look, then picked a character sheet off the table and looked back at Skipbo.  "May I have the book when you're done with it?"

She resumed her seat at the table, sipping at her juice while she studied the strange sheet and pondered all the 'stats' and 'skills' she would have to choose.

((Sunky, do you have anything in mind for stats and so on?  Do we use the same six as in D&D (I guess they could still apply), or do you have different ones?  And do we make up our own skills?    *makes a paper aeroplane*  Yay, ranged combat!  *throws it at Sunky*))
