He slowly lowers his guard at the sound of the voices he knew. When the woman poked her head in, he relaxed more.

"Just... Bad memories in my heart once more. Forgive me if I disturbed you." He said, going his best to recompose himself.  His eyes fell upon the women and he sighed softly.

Abandoning her position peeking around the door frame, Rrula steps briskly into the kitchen with a bright smile for Ericnox.  "Hey, you're the dead guy, right?" she asks cheerfully, hopping up onto a countertop and plucking an apple out of a nearby bowl. 

Twisting her long purplish-brown hair into a tail she throws it over her shoulder out of the way, and uses her small dagger to peel the fruit and cut slices from it as she sits cross-legged on the work surface, watching the others with curiosity dancing in her eyes.

Xyries' eyes follow the movement as Eric reaches for the bottle, but beyond a slight pursing of the lips, she does not react.  Instead, she tugs a second chair out from beside the counter and sets it facing his.  She lines up the front of the chair with the edge of the flagstone under it very precisely before she sits down.  The wood creaks slightly under the weight of her armor as she settles.

Knees together, feet side-by-side on the floor, Xyries Chorster looks at Eric Shattersoul's red eyes.

"Perhaps you have forgotten," she says.  Her voice is quiet but entirely matter-of-fact.  "You now speak to a Vassal of the Sovereign Host, among others a servant of Ollandra.  It is clear that whatever you now recall causes you pain."  She makes a very small gesture of one hand, a flick of an armored finger.  "This I have no power to heal.  But you spoke to me once before, and it seemed then that you hurt less.  Speak again.  At the worst, you can take no further harm."

Xyries listens to this recital without visible reaction.

"Better a stranger than a friend whose hurts you already share," she says.  "For then pain is redoubled, not diminished.  But if you are concerned that your story will be retold, do not be.  I have never spoken of what you told me to another, and I will not do so now."

Xyries turns to look at Rrula.

"I am sure the same is true of Roo."
