The procession of Arachan's surviving family, minus his grandson, who failed to attend, walks down the path splitting the front-interior of the keep into two large courtyards. Reaching the second gatehouse, the three take the center gate. They walk down a path that splits another space into courtyards smaller than the first, until they reach the foot of the great tower at the centre of the keep. Starach and Daisliv wordlessly stop at the base of the stairs. Adrialae walks up the stairs, and turns to look at her uncles, her face appearing regretful, perhaps because they are unable to follow. At a gesture from Daisliv, Aeole's corpse rises up the stairs and comes to rest floating next to the dust that was once his father. Adrialae presses her hand to the large doors, and the open.

Adrialae carefully walks to the mirror Arachan had opened earlier in the morning. As she passes, only the remains of her family and the sword can be seen in the mirrors. Adrialae taps the edge of the secret door, and it swings outward.

She walks down the stairs until reaching the floor with one of her grandfather's laboratories. The stairs. She pauses at the landing, then opens the door. At a gesture, Aeole's body, wrapped in its shroud, passes around her and through the door. She points at it, and waves of flame consume the body. When they cease, the ashes are still floating in the air. At another gesture, these sail across the room, into the Bag of Devouring that Arachan had used to dispose of dangerous materials. Her uncle did not deserve any better, useless, unskilled mortal that he was.

After closing the door, Adrialae continues down the stairs until she reaches the furthest level of the towers basement. There are seven niches there, each marked with the name of Arachan or one of his descendants. Two bear inscriptions in addition to names.

Ohtar d'Arachan
In honour of a forgiven son, whose body was destroyed.

Arachan d'Lartil
In hope of eternal rest.

Adrialae directs her grandfather's remains into an urn on the pedestal. Though his morals and outlook on life were foolish, she still had respect for him. He had been a powerful Necromancer, and the one responsible for her new form and improved insights, even if he was made weak of mind and heart by his advanced age. She would grant him at least the burial that he desired. The sword she directs to the base of the pedestal.

She acsends the stairs to the first level of the tower, and exits, ready to continue the hunt.
