I think the biggest problem with this entire storyline and situation is communication.

I asked repeatedly in character and out to be brought up to speed.  That never happened.  When Cerulean was setting things up I again asked what we should be doing, where we were going, how this was going to happen.  The whole time letting everyone know I had a commitment to leave for at a specific time.  Three hours is was it took to set things up.  There was no communication from Nero during this time.  Cerulean was trying to keep everything together and getting no response.

My time ran out.  Then Nero returned.  So I am unclear what happened.  Nero says that since we say we failed, he died.  Very well.  This finger pointing and blame game non-sense however has no place in the guild.

If you want to set up some major role play with others in the guild, that's great.  Don't blame others if it goes wonky when you're not there especially if you haven't communicated with anyone about the how, the when, the why after having pressured or guilted them into being a part of it in the first place.

Had this been the first time things went awry it might be different but I think better communications would have made this turn out a lot different.

The guild is for playing together.  In order to do that you must communicate.  When 11 players are sitting in Giant hold twiddling their thumbs none of them knowing what is going on for two hours, there is a problem.

Nero, you ask what about the time you spent gathering gifts.  I think you are missing the meaning behind the Golden Night.  It isn't about the loot.  None of those 11 people volunteered to come get you for the loot.  Not one.

They came to rescue you.  They cared about you.  You took that away with your declaration of death and leaving the guild.  Without any explanation, you hurt many peoples feelings and your own standing with your guild mates.

If none of this matters to you then by all means, go about your business, good luck in the future, etc.

If it does, then I urge you to communicate with your friends and help them understand why you gave up.  They didn't give up on you.  Why did you give up on them?

The guild is for people of like mind to come together and have a pleasurable experience within the game.  I don't know anyone who came out of Saturday's event feeling good about it.

Talk, share, ask.  These are all necessary especially when you are attempting a mass event where others are involved.  None of us can really read minds here.  Communication is essential.  Letting people know what was going on would have turned things around.   Computers will fail.  Quests will fail but with communication there is connection and hope.

Talk, share, ask and enjoy.  This game and guild is as much about learning how to work together to overcome adversity than anything besides real life can be.  We share our real life concerns and pain with people we have never met through a world that doesn't exist.  The only thing real here are the friendships we create.

When you turn your back on the only real thing what does anything else matter?
