Biff exits the magical shop with a small package in his hands. He had finished his errand and he needed to find Aristoblis. He headed toward the Troll Head Tavern. If there was one place he knew where to find Aristoblis, it would be in the tavern.
As Biff walks down the street, his eye is caught by a rather ravishing human female bard singing across the street. He quietly said “Mayhap I should delay my guild work for a second and enjoy the sights and sounds of Stormreach.” It was then that he ran smack dab into a stranger.
“OH excuse me! It’s not often that I don’t watch where I’m walking.” Biff took a quick glance at the stranger and noticed the arcane robe. “Ah, you are a fellow practitioner of magic.” Biffs’ magically trained eye caught something just as fascinating as the young, voluptuous bard across the street. “Why you certainly do have a rather interesting staff. Tell me, how did you come across such an object?”
Biff took stock of the man in front of him. He noticed how he held the staff and the way his body was positioned. The crown of black frozen flame on the man’s staff kept his attention. He took stock of the staff’s dimensions and approximate weight. He was looking at the staff much the same way he looked at the bard across the street just moments before.
“My name is Biff, wizard extraordinaire from Aundair; distinguished graduate of the University of Wynarn; and apt pupil of the Arcanix,” Biff paused as he liked to do, for dramatic effect.
This man was most likely right about the staff being tuned for his use only, but Biff remembered one of the first lessons while at the Arcanix: What was once done can be undone. That principle could be applied to everything: life, love, and of course, magic.
“How rude of me to inquire about such an obviously personal item. The way that you obtained such an item must have been filled with adventure and high stakes! I am new to adventures and such things. I would be greatly humbled if you could share your story over some ale. Why don’t we head over to the Troll’s Head Tavern? The first round is on my coin.”
