Welcome to The White Tree!
The White Tree was founded in 3018 TA by Caranthor of Dol Amroth, a Knight of the Swan, sent by his lord Prince Imrahil, to the north-lands of Eriador to recruit soldiers for service against the Corsairs of Umbar. During the course of executing this mission, the treachery of Saruman was revealed and the Gap of Rohan was closed.

As such, Caranthor, unable to return to Gondor with the soldiers he had recruited, and seeing the rising threat posed by both the White Hand and a reviving Witch-Realm of Angmar, decided to instead found an Order to combat the forces of the Shadow in the North and defend the Free Peoples. The White Tree was born!

Who we are:

The White Tree is a Role-Playing (RP) Kinship located on the Landroval Server of Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO). We are a group of people who have a love of Role-Playing and Lord of the Rings Online and seek to combine the two in inventive stories as we tell the tale of the White Tree and its members. We are a Lore-abiding kinship that seeks to interact with the in-game content of LOTRO from a place of fidelity to the game and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

We typically have two to three RP Events per week, and bi-weekly In-Character (IC) Kinship Meetings in addition to other in-game activities. We are an active and growing Kinship, that seeks to deliver consistent, high quality, Role-Playing experiences to our members, allies and friends. All Events are optional but participation is encouraged as you will benefit more from your membership in The White Tree if you participate.

Who can join:

We seek mature players with a love of gaming, role-play and LOTRO. We are built upon the concept of The White Tree as a militia that helps protect the lands of Eriador, and ask for fidelity to that concept on the part of our membership. All races, classes, and levels are welcome! We welcome both experienced Role-Players and people who are new to Role-Playing but eager to learn!

How to Apply:

You may Apply to the White Tree on this site or in person in-game on Lord of the Rings Online. All candidates must successfully complete an in-game IC/OOC interview with an Officer to be accepted. It is as simple as that! No lengthy application process here! For an interview, please seek Caranthor, Arrthalion, Galedlen or Thalionwyn.

Kin Structure:

We have a Tur (S. Lord) as Kin Leader, Hirrim (S. Lords) as Officers, the Requain (S. Knights) as Kinsman, and Ohtarim (S. Warriors) as members. The Kin Leader and Officers form a Leadership Council, and this Council plays a very significant role in the development of policy, procedures and events for the Kinship. Likewise the membership at large is regularly consulted in decision making and their opinions on various aspects of the Kinship are encouraged and heard.

Promotions are based upon clear criteria and merit! The Leadership Council has an active role in this important aspect of the Kinship, to ensure a fair and fun process for those that participate in our Order.

Our goal in this structure is a fun, fair, and open place to enjoy Role-Play and Lord of the Rings online!
