Horde Yakka - Australian Based World of Wacraft Guild, Jubei'Thos

We are an adult guild playing on Horde side Jubei'Thos. The guild has a strong casual / social scene as well as a 25 man raid group with merit / PVE progress based admission. Players who live outside of Australia are welcome to apply.

New Members

You can apply for one of two things when signing up on this site, please make clear in your application which one you intend:

1) Horde Yakka - Guild Invite.
If you are applying for a guild invite spend a little time on the application as well as reading this page and the Guild Charter. We accept both social and raiding applications. Players who are not interested in raiding are welcome to skip the application questions related specifically to raiding.

2) Friends of Yakka - Forum Access.
There are many people who are not in HY that run instances with us. Those players are welcome to sign up on the site for access to our DKP and raid signups.

When applying:

Take the time to read the Horde Yakka Guild Charter. Friends of Yakka are also expected to keep it in mind when raiding with us.

Read the "What to Expect" thread in our public forum.

If you don't already have one, you need to create a Guild Portal account above and log in with it. Your account name needs to match your main character's name. If that name is already taken please append a number to the end.

If you are logged in with your Guild Portal username and password please complete the guild application form linked at the top of the page (ie. Click the "-> Join Horde Yakka <-" text). If you are not logged in with your Guild Portal username and password you will not be able to see the link.

Please understand that being in the guild does not give automatic raiding rights and many of our classes are full for high end raiding at the moment.

You need to check our raid times, especially if you are not located in Australia, and make sure that they are compatible with your daily schedule. Even if you do not intend to raid most of Horde Yakka log on around those times. Our raid hours are very difficult to make for many countries, especially America. Applicants who do not take the time to clearly answer the Time Zone question on their application are usually not considered.

Players applying to join Horde Yakka who wish to raid need to be prepared to spec for PVE.

I am only writing cause it hasnt been done for forever.
SO..... Apologies for the lack of guild reporting over the last, like, forever. Happy to say that in between changes to the home page Yakka has been mucho busy. Mainly with getting drunk and finding new ways to cook bacon, but busy all the same.
If you are new to our site and/or looking to join Yakka, then there are certain things you should know.
1. Olli and lee are kents.
2. If you dont like bacon, we dont like you.
3. You dont have to like heavy metal but it helps if you want to cyber Skoogisand.
4. Regular get togethers are mandatory: See below.

LF 1 DPS Caster

We're looking for a DPS caster, ideally a warlock, mage, or elemental shaman to work on hard modes with us. Gear needs to show effort (Hodir / Inscription on shoulders, correct gems and enchants, no bad slots where there is easily aquired gear via badges / crafting, etc). You don't need to have done the Ulduar fights before, but if that's the case you need to be extremely motivated and be well researched on all the fights + their hard modes beforehand.

Obviously you also need to know how to push your buttons.

Fast Times at Yakka High

Given the unusual absence of our usual reporter (being Braddles) I feel compelled to break the news that we killed another boss in Ulduar.

To give others an idea of how this fight works, I will post a little of our strategy. First of all, Anasz will cotton on endlessly about not running into clouds, then we someone actually does run into a cloud he'll yell a little about it until we get it back under control, when he goes back to cottoning on as per usual. This brings us to the end of phase 1.

In phase 2... well I'm not really sure whats going on in phase 2 because I'm too busy staring at this diagram from Mitch.

Obviously we finished phase 2 off in photoshop instead of wow because its much better suited to our requirements.

In phase 3 everyone turns their back on the boss and he gets upset and kills himself like an emo nerdgin like so:

Then Jam gets his whore dress and dual wield fish out to celebrate like a real ~~man~~ ladyboy.

Grats all on the kill, I'm sure we'll all have fun wiping endlessly on hard modes, because everyone sure is excited about getting their extra 2dps from their ultra optimized best in slot pieces.

Thank you Blizz for the funz, was grand while it lasted. I wasnt there last night when they killed Mim...whatsamcallit BUT I think the fight went something like this.

ZOMG ITS ULDUAR!

So its been AGES since we were inspired enough to post on the front page, but the time is nigh. I would like to extend a thank you to Blizz for giving us some decent content, hurrah!

So we've been in Ulduar a week now and I believe we are 6 bosses in. I will edit this when everyone tells me we've killed more/less BUT point being we're in there and luvin' it.

Here's our latest kill, he was this big Zeus like guy with a some kind of Epilepsy, kept flailing his arms around making heaps of noise. You know, lotsa "BLARG" and "ROAR" n stuff. Generally annoying and clearly in need of some killing.

Happily we supplied him with a liberal dose of smiting last night and the result is below.

Special thank you to Anaz for a fantatstic 'Team Yakka' speech last night. Right up there with the "You have to want it" speech, complete win. We love you.

Did it last week and have been so pissed at blizz (edited whining) that I havent posted. Apologies.

So we did this with what I thought was a lot less pain than anticipated. Needless to say there were countless noobish efforts at wave dodging and falling about in those void holes thingies like so many lemmings off the cliff BUT Sath did die, the drakes didnt do their job killing us and everyone got phat lootz. Win.

I dont have any pics of it because (....edited whining) I dont so there! I will grab some images this week when we kill them again.

So heres something completely different.

HI! If you're new to visiting our guild site, welcome:)

If not, you're probably a guildie, probably a kent and you almost assuredly need to calm down.

We've been quiet around the server as per usual and as always been playing the new content and enjoying ourselves without much fanfare or 'serious' raiding.
We're lucky enough to have a back a few old faces, hi guys! A special mention here to Mith & Chilli, welcome back guys cant believe you've come back for more :P I would make special mention of Taters...but meh'
Content wise we've done everything short of 2 & 3 drake Sath and as other progressive guilds have found, theres not a huge range of pve challenges out there. That being said no-one dislikes free epics and we all look very fancy in our T7.

Here's a pic from our 25 man Maly kill last week.

No doubt we'll post some shots when we get the 2 & 3 drake kills on Sath. Till then we'll se what Blizz throws our way and keep it posted on the front page.

Now get off your PC and go buy your mum a christmas present ffs.

So the time has come for Blizzard to make more money, and with it the end of BC raiding. As token guild cunt (since Lee quit, again) I'd like to take an opportunity to thank you all for everything you've done for me, the epics were awesome.

To all those who were so awesomely providing in Melbourne, and specially Brad, who wasn't able to make it at the last minute, for being generous enough to let some random from the internet have your hotel transfered to them, thanks for your radcore hospitality, it was mondo.

As for those who care about what ended up happening with our raiding (we know you nerds who quit still frequent the site) we did kill Kil'jaeden, Honnou didn't get a bow (yet, will update if he does before friday), so it's pretty much a failure, we love you Ian.

So after 3 weeks of trying, 1 emoragequit, a guest appearance by fake Varashu, and once again some help from our dear friend Torka. We've finally got them down. It may have take us awhile to finally beat the ledge boss, but the last few raids have all been fairly good progress.

So in a two week stretch Corran's fantasy of wielding Thunderfury has come true, again I say TWO WEEKS, and you say no wai, lol, I say wai! Both bindings fell this last fortnight and in the wee hours this morning a trusty late night crew flew down to Silithus and got Corran his Thunderfury. Gratz mate, we're all a little jealous and amazed.

Ok, so we're forming up for Illidan last night and Im like" I can feel a glaive coming on", at which point half the raid (fuck you all) starts swearing at me that Ive jinxed it and Im a dufus and that one wont drop now etc.... POOFS! We then one shot Illidan and boom, Glaive. So moral to the story, Deni ias always right and everyone should pay the proper respect to me or no more glaives for anyone!

I havent been this impressed since Misslittle said she could handle twelve at once! So we sauntered on into Sunwell last night, thats code for dodged our way through Fade's raid group, ripped through the trash, who should be thanked for once again supplting us with oodles of trash epics, and proceeded to one shot Kellogs. Zero fail, all style. Great job everyone, gratz to those who joined the SW lootz brigade, looking forward to making some progress on Brutallus next reset! Kiljaden watch out!

Tongue in Cheek RP from Anyia.

Anyia sat on the pathway leading down to the dragon Kalecgos, idly chewing yet another manna buscuit. Sure, they were nutritious and reinvigorating, but the taste was just awful. And these days she couldn't even feed the left-overs to her pet - the ravager obviously had some sense of what was proper to put in your mouth. Not like her trusty, stupid windserpent. Well, more stupid than trusty really, but supposedly that's what you get when you have a reptilian brain the size of a bird's. So much for this "Intelligent Design" theory some priests had started spouting about.

Staring down the pathway to the great blue blob lying peacefully in the center of the pavillion, Anyia couldn't help sighing a bit. Just another dragon. Sure, this was allegedly a rescue missing, not a kill mission, but hey, a dragon is a dragon. And this whole dragon/demon thing, well, how different from a nightelf/demon could it be? Or more to the point, how much more dangerous? Just another day really. But things were better back in the days of cinnamon buns. At least they tasted vaguely right.

"Mount up!" The call went down the ranks and there was little left to do but follow orders. Shortly thereafter the unmistakable "ok. gooing NAOW!" came and pandemonium ensued. Just like any other day really. Taking care to space out and not get too close to any of these crazy fire-and-ice wielding nutcases who can't conjure up decent tasting food, Anyia laid into the dragon, holding back just a bit for the time being.

It wasn't long before they cry went up "hey?! where'd my party member go? there's just this big empty hole where he was...". With a smirk and a thought of "that's gonna end up with a tongue lashing" Anyia kept focus on the dragon. Sure enough, the first shout was followed up by an irritated "well don't just stand there you idiot - follow him!" from the commander.

Before Anyia had a time to enjoy the misfortune of others, one of her party members got sucked away too. Not wanting to attract attention, she raced to the hole and hurled herself through, wondering whether her pet would have sense enough to follow without explicit orders. Strangely enough it seemed to have. Guess it's really not as stupid as the windserpent.

Taking a brief moment to orientate herself she took hold of her surroundings. Demon. Check. Person to be saved. Check. Arrows. Check. Bow. Check. Pet. Check. Cute. Chick. And with that she ran to the group and let the heavens rain arrows upon the demon. The damn pet kept returning to her all the time despite being told to attack and kill. Repeatedly. Maybe it wasn't smarter than the damn windserpent after all. If she wasn't busy killing a demon she'd definitely gotten the riding crop out to set a thing or two straight with the ravager. After all, you hurt those you love... (or was it "love to hurt"?)

The fight blurred into a continuous stream of arrows, a sore throat from shouting at the pet to attack, and narrowly avoiding being singed by the firewielding nutcases as they got up to their usual shenanigans. It really does take a nutcase to conjure big balls of fire when you're just wearing highly flammable cloth. She idly wondered whether a windserpent would be that silly...

Just as sudden as it started, the fight finished. Mission accomplished. Just another day after all. And just time for another dry manna biscuit before moving on again.

So whats been doin', we've got BT/MH on a 2 day clear schedule and are hoping to talk our trusty raid leader into sunwell progression on Mondays.
Otherwise we just been hanging out, collecting badges and Bears.

So just an update on whats been happening. So while we gear & gumption up for Sunwell, we've pretty much just been loot whoring for the last week n a bit. Special mention to Insomnia for being the biggest loot whore ever (3 pieces of T6 in one run) and condolences to Jamelella for losing his title as guild loot whore. Special thanks to our trusty raid leader Anasz for putting up with me almost wiping raids and Nissles on being the drunkest sober man Ive ever met. Our very own mechanical healing Yeti Misslittle should be comended for puttinmg up with our collective shit and still agreeing to heal us in BG's, Aldhissla gets props for having the only arena team in the guild over 2100, Somma gets a big shout out for growing a Don Johnson 3 day growth which has apparently attracted the ladies in droves, Ian for still reigning supreme as the best wow player we know, Voodoo for joining the guild 2 months ago and already having better gear than me, to Gray, Gren and Naf and Nissles as well for entertaining me whilst in Melbourne and for having being drunk enough to sing Annie songs on the street at the top of our lungs without being ashamed. We'll keep the home page updated and with a little luck we will be posting about our Sunwell ventures very shortly.
