Upon the end of Summer, the Shadowed Tribe wouldalways host a sacred ritual, a holiday in celebration of the gifts thatElune has given us.

It is always the first sunday of October, of every year. The Tribewould gather in worship and celebration, story and song. For years, this holiday was held amongst the Tribe, it was never celebratedoutside it.

That tradition now ends.

The Shadowed Tribe will celebrate Tela en Laire (Summer's End, orliterally, End of Summer) for the first time with outsiders to theTribe. On Sunday evening, on October the second, the Tribe will gatherat the Temple of Elune in Darnassus to host this celebration. All areinvited.

This year, the Tribal Seer, Melisse, will be hosting theceremonies. Anyone will be able to share a story, or a poem, or a song,if they wish. Come, if you wish, and join us, in celebration of ourGoddess Elune.

In conjunction with our Tela en Laire celebration, the Druids would also like to hold their annual Blessings of the Beasts!

IC:

The end of summer is upon us. Winter is close at hand. As such it isalso time for the annual Blessing of the Beasts. For those unfamilarwith this ancient ritual, let me elaborate.

The Blessing of the Beasts is an Ancient Druidic ritual that hasbeen practiced since the dawn of the world. Each year, at the end ofsummer, before the first snows of winter have blanketed the land, theAncient Druids would gather at a sacred spot and call forth a blessingon all the beasts of the forest. It is this blessing that has ensuredthe survival of our forest friends throughout the harsh winters of dayspast.

This year we will be holding the Blessing of the Beasts at theconclusion of the Tela en Laire celebration. All Druids are called toattend. Any who have a Beastial Companion (Hunters and Personal Pets)and wish to have them included in the blessing should also be present. At the conclusion of the Tela en Laire, we will gather outside the temple of Elune and move in procession tothe sacred spot. There the Druids will perform the Ancient Ritual. Ilook forward to gathering with my fellow Druids, and our many animalfriends.

If you wish to take part in the Blessing, and need more information, please contact me any time.

A small note is posted to the public board in the local inn in Booty Bay which reads:

Sister Melisse presided over the celebration, and began by sharing herthoughts on the Goddess and the gifts she’s given us.  ThePriestess, Lastahl then rose to offer a short invocation to Elune, anda poem.  After that, Seer Melisse rose again and offered blessingsin the Goddess’ name to those gathered, and the number who steppedforward to receive her blessings made our hearts swell withpride!  After receiving their blessings, many were inspired enoughto share their own experiences or offer a short story in honor ofElune.  That was a wonderful addition to our celebration and wethank those who shared so much.

To our surprise, we also saw Humans, Dwarves, and Gnomes at ourcelebration, who were there to learn more of our religion.  It wasan honor to share our thoughts and ideas with them, and we do hope tosee more of the other races stand beside us in support of eachother.

After the main celebration ended we strolled to a nearby clearing wherewe met friends, made new friends, and generally socialized a bit. We also presented the young who joined us with a small gift to helpease their growth in this world.

We are very pleased with the response we received and are happy we decided to open our Tela en Laire to all.  We thank each and every one who added to the fun of our celebration in honor of the Goddess and Summer’s End!!

Below the note is a small scroll with a poem:

Elune.

I am inspired by the beauty She’s bestowed upon this world.

By The Three, She guides me.

From Her light, I see the path I must walk.

From Her Shadows, I see the battles I must fight.

In Her beauty, I see my weaknesses, and know my strengths.

By The Three, She is my inspiration.

She guards my soul, strengthens my resolve, and lightens myheart.

I walk the path She lights for me.

But by The Three, and by the gift of my Sisters, I do notwalk it alone.

By Lastahl, Priestess of the Shadowed Tribe.
