 Guild Purpose

The purpose of this guild is to bring people together who share common interests. They hope to expand and increase the guild size through the addition of new members. We also want to have fun while when we are together and working on our characters. By developing relationships and friendships, the guild will become even stronger.

Our Mission

Their mission is to further promote the interests of the guild and the members to the community of Norrath. They strive to make a difference by aiding anyone who is willing to accept the assistance of others.

The General Guild Rules:

Ø      Have fun, laugh, socialize and have a good time.

Ø      Respect the judgment of the Leaders and Officers.

Ø      Participate in Guild activities and group with current guild mates as much as possible when appropriate for current level to allow everyone to get to know you and your abilities.

Ø      Read webpage boards periodically and actively participate in guild chat and on the guild forums at the web site to help everyone get to know each other.

Ø      Use guild chat to socialize while online whenever possible following the previous guidelines. Say hello when you log on, just so we know you're there.

Ø      Disputes between members should be carried out in tells and not in guild chat. If dispute cannot be settled between members please get an officer involved via in game email. An officer's decision will be respected but may be appealed before the guild leader. ALL members will follow the chain of command. This means bring issues FIRST to an officer, then if need be the guild leader.

Ø      All members shall abide by the rules of etiquette.

The Rules of Etiquette

Ø
Members must be aware that no matter where they go, they are representing the guild. Their actions and conversations are in direct reflection on the guild. Members must be careful how they conduct themselves in public. Show others what it's like to be a part of the guild (Raiding the Dark). Any violation of these rules of etiquette may result in the removal of the member. Members are expected to show honor, dignity, respect, honesty, and virtue in all things that they do.

Members are prohibited from participating in any activities such as: kill stealing, ninja looting, begging, and intentionally training a zone, persons, or any other party.

Ø      Guild chat is for all members to use and socialize in. We have members of both genders and all ages, so we need to keep them in mind at all times. Please refrain from vulgarity.

Ø      Showing proper respect to all adventurers of Norrath when using /ooc, /shout, and /tell and understand the use of each function.

Ø      Discriminatory remarks that are disrespectful of real life race, beliefs, age, background or other personal remarks are not permitted.

Ø      Begging is not permitted at any time in the guild. NEVER ask for FREE gear. For reference begging includes but is not limited to, begging for items, power leveling, teleporting, and/or other class skills.

Ø      As members of the guild if we are asked for help and can, we should; putting ones own life in fatal danger is not required unless you so choose. For example a level 29 cleric would not be expected to venture into a higher level area at midnight to conduct a rez even if she was in a nearby area. Assistance should also be readily given to every member. A call for help from a guild member in your zone should immediately become your first priority, assuming that you are not grouped or on an urgent request. This is all within reason, of course. The high level members are not expected to ferry all the new recruits around the world with teleports. With this and similar issues in mind, assistance should be requested with discretion and respect. Asking for assistance is encouraged, but remember if a player is unable to help at the time, please do not beg for assistance, as this can become very annoying.

Membership Requirements

The guild is always on the look out for brave, honest and non-greedy adventurers. In order to apply for membership, you must be at least level 10 and have a clean history. Members must be in the guild for a minimum of 20 days before they can vouch for others.

Your membership can be terminated for reasons such as ignoring the rules, refusal to group with guild mates, and being a general nuisance to guild members and other players. Abandoning guild mates while grouped may also be a cause for dismissal.

The Officers have the authority to:

Invite new members to the guild after the prospective member has performed honorably in a group. No one will be invited to the guild without first having grouped with, or having been observed in a group by at least one officer.

Ø      Attempt to resolve any conflict between guild members, but should seek the support of at least one other officer before acting.

Ø      Direct new members to the guild website, explain the basics of what is expected of a member, and direct the new member to familiarize themselves with the guild charter.

At no time shall an Officer use the /guild remove command. Doing so will lead to the immediate termination of officer status within the guild. Only the guild leader may terminate a membership to the guild.

Officer Eligibility:

Must be a regular member of Raiding the Dark. Eligible member must be a minimum level of 45 to show commitment to the game and the guild.

Quests and Raids

All are encouraged to help one another complete their quests. This does not imply that higher levels will finish your quest for you. Let the guild leader know via the guild website, guild chat or in-game email about completing a quest that you will need assistance with. Guild leader will try to schedule a date and time to have guild members available to assist if appropriate. This will allow others to respond and be prepared to assist. Please be concise on what the quest is, what items are needed, and what assistance needs to be provided (i.e. ports, specific classes needed, spawn times etc.)

If you need a raid to get a certain item, you will be responsible for the research of the zone and all steps necessary to complete the raid. Coordination and formation of all guild raids will then be scheduled via the guild website. Keep in mind that we may have to solicit the aid of an allied guild in order to complete the raid. All members should submit their raid ideas to the Quest section of the website. He/she will provide guild with info, loot goals, groups, and any other pertinent information in advance of any raid.

GUILD RAIDS

All members desiring to participate on raids must read the raid guidelines on the website. Events are held at least weekly. At the start of these events, all irrelevant conversations should be kept outside of the raid chat. These events bring everyone in the guild together, get people to know and work with each other. Although they are not mandatory, all classes are encouraged to come to as many events as they can whether they're beneficial for the individual or not. Events are posted on the website, it is the individual's responsibility to check it periodically and be on time for the scheduled event. All classes should try to attend all planned events, not just the one that has their armour in it.

RAID LOOTING

Each group will divide its own minor loot by the honor system.
Everyone should have auto split off, and everyone should loot an approximately equal number of minor loot items. All coin should be looted by a designated member of the group and be divided up AFTER the event. This is to help classes such as monks who don't want the copper weighing them down.
If an item drops that is class/race specific and they are "present" (i.e. saying "my alt can use that" is not allowed) that can and will equip the item, only those members should roll on that item.
If an item is not class/race specific or a member(s) of the class is present but will not USE the item, then all members should roll.
Once a member has won an item, should the same item drop again, that member should
not roll on the same item again.
Any No Drop items should be announced in raid chat first. Looting of No Drop items will be at the direction of the Events Master.

LOOT RULES

All loot of any value before it is to be sold or traded, may be offered to the guild first. This does not infer that the guild will tweak members. In guild groups, all class specific drops will go to those who can use if it is an upgrade from current equipment and will be used. A class-specific item that will be used only on raids or special circumstances is NOT an upgrade. If more than one person is eligible then all those eligible will roll for the item.
