If you are waiting from an email from the new website, check your spam filters. We've had a lot of people complain that they aren't receiving emails, but the emails are actually ending up in their spam filters.

So, I am sure you have all been impacted by the recent crapfest that Guildportal has been offering lately. As the forums are such a key tool for communication and organization for the EC, the council has acted and commissioned a new website, independent from Guildportal.

The Epic Coalition has used this Guildportal site for almost two years now and the amount of archived content is mind boggling. Unfortunately, moving the content from this site to the new site cannot be done automagically. We ask everyone to pitch in and help.

Also, the new website is significantly different from the guild portal site. Some things are greatly improved and others may be a pain to adjust to. On the new website, there is a new forum in the public forums section that is for discussing and finding help on how to do things in the new website. The software that runs the website is extremely flexible and it is very likely that if you are missing some feature in the new website that was available from GP, it is just a matter of finding it. In the next few weeks, please help others find their way around in that forum.

Finally, as an incentive for those to start the transition to the new website. A treat (especially for the older EC members) is waiting for everyone in the Applications forum. You'll have to see for yourself.

The council has planned this schedule for the transition:

May 10th: The new website is open to registration. It will be available at http://new.epiccoalition.com. At the very least, go sign up for an account and get approved. Members are still required to read the old website. New topics should be discussed on the new site as much as possible. Begin transferring any content that needs to be moved as soon as possible.

May 17th: The web addresses will change. The new website will now be http://www.epiccoalition.com. The old website will now be http://old.epiccoalition.com. Also, all topics on the old website will be locked and any new topics will be deleted. From this point forward, all members are required to read the new website and can stop checking the old one.

June 1st: We'll give Dozer the thumbs up to stop paying for the GP site and it will be left to decay.
