Due to technical difficulties, DM_Odentin will be away for a while. To help with the influx of characters popeOpanda has been appointed as a temporary DM. Also DM_Zulekia will be out of town on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Any new applications will be approved upon Zulekia’s return. All current players will direct any questions to popeOpanda or one of the other regulars.

Earl Finds A New Champion

Earl has found himself a new Rank 1 Champion this week. Gaston Greco, a young halfling sailor, walked in to the arena amidst several enemies. His almost constant lethal strikes landed him three vitories. He left for a day, returning with some interesting new equipment. In his second round, his weapon of choice started crackling with electricity. Several critical strikes, explosions of electrical energy, and some unlucky strikes, Gaston was more than qualified to challenge former champion, Demi Najila. Earl approached Gaston and offered him the chance to fight. Gaston accepted readily.

The fight was over quickly. The two warriors charged to the center of the arena and began swinging. Gaston stabbed Demi, electricity coursing over her entire body, as her chain burrowed deep inot his side. Nearly dead from one strike, both warriors attacked again. Demi'a chain never made it around for the blow, as Gaston pierced her once more, causing her to fall, lifeless. Two strikes, and the champ goes down!

Gaston was given a bow and presented with his championship belt. Anyone who wishes to challenge him is welcome, just as with all other championship fights.

Earl's Third Tournament: New Champions

Earl's third tournament started with a bang.

In Rank 1, first round it started with a human by the name of Hrafn fighting a halfling mage. Hrafn tried his best to tackle the small man, but he was weakened by the halfling's magic. He did manage to get the guy in a bear hug once, but the halfling dodges around, weakening Hrafn again and again until the human couldn't even stand. Then, a simple dagger ended it all.

Also in Rank 1, Round 1, Krriss Samuels faced off against an elven druid and her wolf companion. If not for the elf's constant summoning spells, Krriss might have made it out alive. There were just too many wolves for Krriss to handle.

In Rank 1, a new champion emerged: Demi Najila. Her spiked chain proved too much for any competitor to handle.

In Rank 2, former rank 1 champion Raorr Nawdur also started off against a halfling. This one, though, used a crossbow to fight. The fight went on a while, with both parties causing some major damage. In the end, though, Raorr was able to get inside the halfling's defenses and end his life.

In another Round 1 fight, Arms leader Lefty fought a man with a flaming longsword. Multiple hits to the gut from Lefty's axe finally ended the man's life.

In Round 2, Raorr came face to face with something never seen in Neverwinter before this tournament: A half-dragon kobold. Raorr seems to have seen these before, as she fought with such ferocity. Twin axes against a double axe. Both barbarians took and gave hard blows, but Raorr emerged victorious. She left the kobold in the arena, instead of customarily removing the corpse for restoration.

In another Round 2 fight, Lefty faced off against a mounted foe. Lefty was caught twice by the knight's lance, and was forced to pull him off his horse twice before the fight could really begin. The barbarian fighter looked beaten, but somehow managed to turn it around in the end. When his ferocious rage wore off, however, while he was on his way to the cleric, his body could no longer take the strain, and he fell. Good thing he was already off the battlefield when it happened.

Finally, in the semifinals, these two friends and companions met. Lefty was quick to land the first blow, but Raorr, with more training and experience with her axe, managed to drop the hearty dwarf in only a few blows.

In the finals, Raorr met a newcomer, Nishan Vito, who defeated the former champion in the first round. Early in the battle, Nishan showed off his magical skills, disappearing from the field of battle only to appear in a few moments to cast an attacking spell. Though the crowd laughed when he fell on his face, he was still able to freeze Raorr in place long enough to drain the rest of her strength. Having finished that, he took Raorr's own axe and claimed the championship.

In Rank 3, a champion emerged: Moon Kaamil, an elf with a knack for killing shots and magical wings to help keep out of range of melee attacks.

In Rank 4, a newcomer claimed championship: Zeroun Jabilo. This absolute giant of a man used his bare fists and supreme size to literally crush his opponents.

In Rank 5, the former champion, Andres, was cut down in his prime by a stealthy and tricky woman by the name of Ave Cyrah. Her twin swords cut him down like he was butter.

So there you have it, folks: Five new champions. Maybe soon another tournament will test the mettle of these five individuals. We shall see...

Earl’s Second Tournament

Earl’s Second Tournament was recently held with an upset that was far from expected!

A couple of Halflings, several Humans, an Elf and a Dwarf! All came for the tournament. The styles of fighting were more diverse then usual, even a mage came to compete for the Tournament belt this time around!

The First fight of the Tournament was Tossel vs. Gan. This fight was short and quite an upset! As the fighters entered the arena Tossel loaded his crossbow while Gan Walked around getting cheers from the crowd. Gan was the obvious choice, with most of the crowd taking the safe bet on him to win. But when the battle started Tossel quickly lodged a bolt right into Gan. Gan started to charge the little kinder but as Gan got closer the Kender stopped him cold in his tracks as he threw a dagger to quickly end the man’s life before he could even reach the kinder! At this the crowd went wild, some happy some sad, as many lost money by betting on Gan.

The Second fight of the Tournament was Zatarra vs. Jerry. Like the previous fight this was another short fight. Both being close range fighters, they quickly met In the middle of the arena. They exchanged a few quick blows, Jerry not being able to hit Zatarra and Zatarra only scratching Jerry. But that’s when the Excitement hit. Zatarra swung and left himself open as Jerry almost completely took the halflings head off! The Halfling was quickly taken to the cleric for healing and the crowd cheered when he walked off the arena.

The next fight in the Tournament was one of the most exciting. WE had a rare treat for a Rank 1 fight, a mage! Thorkell and Fernal entered the ring. Thorkell stood at his end of the ring wearing his wolf skin clothing as Fernal’s raven took flight into the air as Fernal stood there in his blue velvet robe. As the match starts Thorkell starts running to the mage. The mage makes a few gestures, but nothing seems to happen. As Thorkell approaches the mage he brings his axe up to slay the mage but suddenly the mage is nowhere to be seen! A few in the crowd with eyeglasses of true sight watch as the mage sidesteps Thorkell. Thorkell starts swinging his axe like a mad man as several badgers appear next to him! Thorkell end the life of one of the badges as the mage appears and shoots Thorkell with a black ray.. The crowd cheers as the strength is drained from Thorkell. Thorkell ignores the remaining badger as he charges and swings at the mage who avoid the attack with ease as the crowd goes wild! Which might have been a mistake as the badger takes a bite out of his leg. Thorkell tries to hit the mage again but misses at the mages hands glow with electricity as he touches Thorkell who starts to shake with the electricity runs through his body. At this point Thorkell goes into a mad rage barely hitting the mage as the mage lands another shocking blow to the Barbarian. Lost in his rage, the barbarian finally lands a deadly blow to Thorkell. BUT not before the Mage extracts his revenge and sends electricity through his body more time! It is obvious that the last blow from the mage should have killed thorkell, but he remains standing through sure will power! The crowd goes wild as many won a good amount of money by betting on the barbarian! The mage gave a good fight, but in these rank 1 battles it is very hard for a mage to hold their own against these barbarians…

Now it was time for Tossel’s Second round! This round he fought the man that had beaten Zatarra… Tossel tried the same tactic, but maybe because of how badly he say Zatarra get hit Tossel could not keep his aim straight and both his crossbow and dagger missed as Jerry quickly ran Tossel through with his sword ending the kender’s chances in the Tournament.

Now was Round two for Thorkell! Thorkell entered the arena to find himself facing off against a Dwarf! Both men quickly ran into the middle of the arena with axes in hand. Thorkell hits the dwarf hard in the stomach as the as the Helrod, the dwarf, returns the favor and hits Thorkell hard in the arm! The crowd starts to cheer as the two barbarians go at it. Thorkell send another blow but Helrod knocks it to the side as he slashed Thorkell again. Thorkell goes into another rage as he swings wildly missing the dwarf.. Taken back by the rage Helrod misses his attack on Thorkell too. Getting angry Thorkell brings his axe up hard breaking the jaw of the Dwarf! The crowd goes crazy as blood is splattered across the area! But this does not stop Helrod as he brings his axe down hard, almost cutting Thorkell into two! The crowd goes nuts screaming as Thorkell is dragged to the cleric and Helrod leaves the ring victorious!

Now it is time for the final round… Who will be the victor, and the new Rank 1 Champion?! Jerry and Helrod enter the ring and almost to quick to see Helrod ends Jerry’s life! The crowd went wild with excitement as a new Champion was awarded the belt.

Now that Raorr was advanced to Rank 2, she graciously gave her belt to Helrod and honoring her Earl permitted her to fight the reigning Rank 2 Champion, Gleg!

As Raorr and Gleg meet in the middle of the ring Raorr quickly cuts him with her Axe as Gleg takes her to the ground! Following up Gleg Quickly pins her, as he gets ready to slowly take the life out of her. But before Gleg knows it HE standing back up again! Raorr had managed to push him back up from off the ground! The crowd started to scream and cheer the newcomer to Rank 2 on. Gleg laughed as he tried to take her back down but she quickly threw him off! The crowd when hysterical with cheers as Raorr managed to do what none thought she could! Raorr managed to get one more slash with her axe in before Gleg took her down and finally beat her till she was unconscious. The crowd cheered for Gleg, but seemed a bit somber that Raorr’s amazing start did not finish that way. After the fight Gleg picked her up and helped her to the cleric and once she was awake raised her hand with his as the crowd cheered…

Character Creation

once you've gotten your character approved and he has made his entrance into the tavern it is set in stone.

With out an event happening that alters you.... you do not change.

Characters cannot change alignments, without having due cause.

If you are Evil.. you cannot become good over night with out doing Good deads. Same with good going evil.

So... meaning.. please think about your character BEFORE you submit it... once it has been looked over an given the ok... that does not mean modify it to make it better... the ok was given for THAT character... not the modified one.

and this is not to singal any one person out. This is a common question among many people.

Earl’s First Tournament: A New Champion Emerges!

Earl held his first tournament. Some of the scheduled fighters failed to show, but still the tour out was good. There were five contestants for the prize, Thomas, Grimli, Thorkell, Sidartha and Roarr.

The first match was Grimli vs. Thorkell and the spectators got just what they expected from two barbarians, lots of blood. Meeting in the middle of the arena Grimli and Thorkell exchanged blow after blow until Thorkell went into a rage and ended the fight in one hard and well-placed blow! The crowd cheered as Grimli feel down dead and Thorkell raised his axe and shield above his head in victory.

The next match was Thomas vs. Raorr. This match was an upset the shocked the entire crowd, even Earl himself! As the match started Thomas took a defensive stance and waited for Roarr. Roarr responded and cam running towards him with furry and raw power. But the crowd gasped as Thomas looked straight at Roarr and she stopped cold in her tracks! Frozen! Thomas has cast a spell that no one saw coming. Calming sprinting up to her he pulled a dagger from his belt and slid it into her throat ending the fight. The entire crowd was baffled, as Thomas made no grand gesture of victory but simple walked out of the arena.

The third scheduled match was Sidartha vs. Feradar. As Earl called the opponents into the ring Sidartha came with a calm, smooth and confident swagger. But there was a problem, after an hour of waiting his opponent never showed! So Earl made a call and deemed Sidartha the winner by default.

Now was time to start thinning out the winners!

The next match was Thomas vs. Thorkell. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, how was this match going to end? Was Thorkell going to give Thomas the beating that Raorr should have? That Thomas’s sneaky ways going to prevail again? Well soon enough the crowd and earl had their answers. AS Thorkell came running for Thomas he was frozen in his tracks just like Roarr. Once again Thomas calmly approached his opponent and slid a dagger into his throat ending the match. Seeing this unlikely outcome happen twice set the crowd into a frenzy as several of the people won money on 2 to 1 odds!

Having won the fight, Thomas was to Face Sidartha next to see who gets to face Sharp, the reigning champion! But once again as Sidartha enters the arena his opponent is nowhere to be seen! Thomas does not show! Maybe the monk was too scary for him, we will never know. But Earl refused to advance Sidartha without having actually fought in a single match so he proclaimed that Thorkell and Roarr would fight to see who shall face Sidartha!

This was truly the match of the tournament! As both fierce barbarians entered the ring the crowd got excited. Which combatant was going to come back from losing to have a chance at victory once more?!

As the Battle started, and that’s what it was folks, a battle! As the battle started Thorkell land Roarr charged into the middle of the Arena axe’s swinging. There was a laud crash as the met in the middle Raorr driving her fiery bald home into Thorkell! Going for the second blow Thorkell was quick to knock her blade aside and deliver a blow of his own! Raorr reacted quickly coming back with another fiery blow, but Thorkell was quick to know it aside, but alas not quick enough to avoid her second blade that dug deep into his arm. Raorr then comes down hard with her fiery blade, but Thorkell managed to get his shield up just in time! The sparks flew as the blade hit the shield with tremendous force! Both of the warriors seeing openings Thorkell drove his axe hard into Roarr's leg while she drove the other end of her axe into Thorkell's arm! Just then it looked to be over for Thorkell! Roarr raised her axe up and was bringing it down hard right for Thorkell’s head! This was going to be a fatal blow! But with quick wits and quick reflexes Thorkell lunged at Raorr and turned this match of axes into a wrestling match! Thorkell and Roarr went back and forth and finally Roarr managed to throw Thorkell off in a show of pure strength! Seeing this show of power sent Thorkell into a rage, but it was all too late. As he enters his furry Raorr brings down two hard blows ending Thorkell’s life! The crowd and Earl jumped out of their seats! This was the Match of the Tournament!

With a new opponent for Sidartha to fight the combatant were called to the arena. AS the match started the both ran into the middle of the arena. Sidartha landed several blows, but they did not seem to affect the barbarian! Slashing hard with her fiery blade Raorr inflicted a severe wound to the monk! But not so severe that the monk couldn’t avoid the next blow with ease. Raorr kept swinging but with fluid movement and grace that only a monk can show. But finally Roars axe swung true and ended the match for Sidartha.

IT had finally come, the Title Match!

As the combatants enter the Arena Sharp starts to bang his great sword against his tower shield to get he crowd worked up. He slowly moves towards he center of the Arena and in a Flash Roarr charges him and in a flurry of fetal blows end the Champions life in a flash! The crowd went wild! It was unknown if Raorr would even be able to hit the heavily armoured champion, let alone end his life so fast!

After the match Earl came to congratulate Raorr and give her the Belt!

The first tournament ended with an upset. The Barbarian that lost so easily in the beginning came back to vanquish all her opponents and take the title!
